game not smooth anymore?

just updated the game, before was running solid 120fps across all maps with butter smooth gameplay

now feels kinda choppy etc. anyone else having this? could it be launch option settings like "-DX12"

they updated the engine that's the cause, same stuff happens to me i get lag spikes and getting suck on invisible walls now

its otherwise for me, game after update runs much much smoother and more stable than before, you can try to reinstall game and check for graphics card updates

They have changed the engine to Unreal 5. This obviously has effects, but I assume it will get better over time as (hopefully) stuff gets more optimized for UR5.

Meanwhile I recommend you turn off Vsync to get a little less chppy experience.

rubberbanding shouldn't be caused by graphics though. Thats a connection issue. Or a hardware issue..

Personally I have an ok-ish performance, although worse than before. I have a 8-year old I7 and a 3070. I disabled vsync and at least it runs somewhat smooth at 1090P but doesnt look as good as before. (because of the tearing caused by offline Vsync). With Vsync it looked uncomfortably choppy, a little bit of movement-sickness inducing.

did some research and the gamesettings.ini file got itself a brand new settings

"sg.GlobalIlluminationQuality=3
sg.ReflectionQuality=3"

could be the reason for fps drops since these settings are usually seen on high end games with rtx support

It is often the case that when game makes a major graphics update, the settings "automatically" set themselves to higher quality than original.

DBD however doesnt really much in the way of graphics settings ingame..

doesnt show up for me, where exactly did you find this ? GameUserSettings doesnt show this

ok its here now, i removed Read only and started the game. set them to 1 and will test if the stutters get better

Probably because the server connection is bad. They don't let us check ping in the lobby anymore so never really know what you're connecting to.

my game went from perfect to sheet. ive decent pc so its irritating. i now get hit by killers no where near me as if im lagging but im not with friends . its the system reading stuff wrong idk. hate taking breaks from dbd but will have to for sanity til they fix their sht

It is neither. Everyone is experiencing these issues one way or another.
