There's very little ways they can change up running around a piece of wood at this point.
I'd say this was a good opportunity to have a killer that could quickly walk over pallets and scurry around the map. Maybe even a way to kidnap people and put them in / on something that ISN'T a hook. Something to really shake up the gen kick > pallet > down > hook formula.
I wouldn't even mind if they started making powerful killers with big weaknesses, like this dude could scurry around the map and walk over pallets but he can't use hooks and, like I stated before, has to kidnap survivors and take them to specific "hideouts" like his lore teased.
Though I doubt many people would want that type of killer as the formula is pretty much infallible to the dedicated playerbase.
But the more I test him, the more fun I find he is. Perhaps I've gone insane after nearly 2k hours, but he has enough differences to make him stand out a tad.
You can do Insidious fakeouts with his clones, wall bounce/angle shots with his power, the clones themselves have a fun little cutscene attached to them when being cleansed, his teleport is snappy and his M2 has restrictions so it can't be spammed, survivors needing to stare at him to cleanse their weakness quickly... That's just from my small amount of testing.
Would I have liked a more original power? Yeah, who wouldn't? Am I upset with what we got? Not really. I'm actually kinda looking forward to what kind of skill expression comes from the bounce mechanic.
And then i saw his ability.... Why devs why give him such a random and weird ability? Not all killers need such a whacky gimmick
