It's a mechanic that doesn't apply to solo queue 99% of the time.

The wiggle is there to stop the killer being able to carry everyone to the basement every time. You're not meant to be able to wiggle off very often unless team mates bodyblock or sabo, or the killer gets over ambitious with which hook he decides to bring you to.

Or if some hooks in the corner of the map where you are downed, are definitively broken by the Entity.
In this specific case, the wiggles are the point: it sometimes helps you to free from the killer's grasp & to give you another chance to escape. Particularily if you are the last inside & the hatch has spawn close to you.
It happens to me 1 time & I can promise you I was so glad to do not fail my skillchecks at this point !

Sometimes I ask the same fro mmyself. :D Because now way to escape some killers graps, especially with Iron Grasp perk. And sometimes it almost need one more meter or one more wiggle to get free. XD
But like others said: keep doing it, keep trying! sometimes you get lucky. Kate's Boil Over and Ash's Flip-flop perk almost a killer combo, if the killer not instanly pick you!

point of wiggling is to deny killer from reaching specific hook they can take advantage of.
Contrary to people thinking it is meant to let you free, it is not. But not everyone understands that

Nobody has said 'to wiggle' = 'to let you free' but sometimes it happens anyways. On the contrary, I think everyone has perfectly understood is not a common thing (killers are not all too greedy with the hooks).

My issue since the new update is that you can be carried to anyhook.
Normally i could have people body block n take hits but now that = a easy 4k

Extra bloodpoints, sometimes I think about not even doing it but im kinda a BP goblin and the feeling of losing out of free BPs makes me feel bad.

it used to have a randomized chance of letting you go. now its been silently nerfed for a few years. ever since the 6.0 patches, wiggling also changed so that the white area for great skill check does 0% difference. so it's best to tap it as soon as the marker bounces in a ,"good," area. now the wiggling makes no difference, it is time based if you're completing the checks.

Kinda sad to read that. Is it another stupid feature to give a chance to killer to hook a survivor far away ?
I never get it these kind of changes. Who asked for that ?

Bloodpoints, it can slightly slow down the killer.

Generally, you'll need bodyblocks or a sabo to actually wiggle off outside of niche situations - so, not really happening in solo queue

You should still wiggle for miracle situations and that it can impede the killer. Also, some killers will interpret you not wiggling as you giving up and they may act differenty
