DBD gained the most popularity back in 2016 when the game was in a broken state where it was almost impossible to chase survivors. In other words : the game was an exploit safety simulator favoring the survivors with actual infinite loops.
The Vecna projectile spell has a long "wind up", massive spread and you can duck it so it cannot hit you.
The pallet hold has a 38 second cooldown. You will have to stun the killer to deny his power.
Either way he can only get one hit (not two) by using the pallet trick
Trapper had gutwrenching nerfs very early on.
1. Trap hitbox radius was shortened so it didn't block the new lane size in loops.
2. Traps could no longer be placed under hooks (this was fair btw); on that note why can Hag still put traps under hooks?
3. Trapper didnt scale with the game changes where 80% or more of pallets required him to break the pallet for the chase to continue. He doesn't really have a power at the start of the game and has to collect it.
Are you asking? Why do people not play killers that I can "have my way with" anymore?
Thanks for your detailed explanation.
Artist can do that, Pyramid Head can do that, it's not like Vecna suddenly came with a completely new ability :).
I am glad that this game has so many different killers with their own powers and playstyles. If we were still in the 'good old Billy and Trapper days', it would be a boring and stale game. There would be little to no variety, every game would be exactly the same.
Yes, I agree that it is overwhelming for a new player and that there's a lot to learn and get used to. Personally, though, I like the thrill of never knowing what you're up against, and adapting accordingly.
