The great success of chaos shuffle and why it should be a permanent feature.
So for dbd, in particular upper mmr. Matches have kind of boiled down largely though not exclusively to about a few handful of perks. No more than 20 that is typically on rotation for each side whereas other perks are exotic novelties. This became very stale after a while and became predictable. And each side could do many things to still hurt the other quite a bit.

Chaos shuffle became a good retreat to us that got a little tired of the meta and while it defidently is 'unfair' in the sense that it can load you up with bad perks and give the other side all kinds of strong stuff is at the end of the day a much more even chance than the normal gameplay. It becomes a breath of fresh air.

Now of course, both survivors and killers can do stuff to make things difficult for the other side. Survivors can still bring items with strong addons to give themselves a second chance, and killers can still bring the strongest addons. Maps are still open to be used. But, overall, this is a very nice change of tune.

What do you guys think? Would you want it in the game going forward?

I would love to have Chaos Shuffle permanent, but..... Map Offerings should be disabled for this mode.

I'm gonna miss the mode. I really enjoyed it.

i'd like to see it integrated in normal mode.

there are certain gameplay aspects that still strongly benefit from thoughtful selection of perks. aside from this, i don't mind playing with a few random / diceroll perks.

i like that I can experience some gameplay variety without thinking about perks (i.e. i feel lazy to choose perks). a little nudge with a 'random' perk that gives +bp bonus will be nice.

There are a few potential issues with not having it as a mode.

One could create a bloodpoint incentive to do so. But, it would be used a minority of times. And seeing one person run it every other game, while an improvement, is not great. Also, I'd argue that killers that select it are at risk of running a meme build against whatever the survivors bring.

I do think it needs to be in it's own lane to fully work.

I agree, though I'd not mind some map offering nerfs overall either so I might be biased.

It's not for everyone, of course. But I still think it's worth testing to see players' interest in using it in normal mode. Lots of people play less competitive when doing old tome challenges (which is where the idea of random perks challenge was first introduced - the challenge gave bp or some sense of progress).

When I play killer, and I don't have a challenge to kill survivors, I don't mind running random perks to do a challenge like "chase survivors for X seconds" or "break X generators".

When I play survivor, and I don't have a challenge that requires escaping, I don't mind running random perks to "finish 1 generator" or "vault X times while in chase" or "heal X survivors". As a regular solo queue player, I see some teammates using random perks often, and I'm fine with it (as long as I don't have a challenge to escape).

I'm a lazy setup player who focuses on challenges. I like to just jump in and play the dance game. I wouldn't go to the perk randomizer website to choose perks. Too much effort. I stick with just 1 main build. With "random" perks available, I'd just keep 2-3 chosen/favorite perks and 1-2 "random" perks in my main build and play match after match - I'd pause only to select challenges.

Yes, please bring chaos shuffle back.

Chaos shuffle was fun for the first week then things became sweatier than normal game mode.

If they made it permanent, I would like some tweaks. The only offerings one can bring are the bp ones. Game mode is supposed to be fun.

This is my opinion of course.

imo a good workaround to keep queue times fast with the eventual 2v8, 1v4 and 3rd queue Modifiers is making Random Perk the last slot in the perk page selection, works with slots
1-2-3-4 accruing 25% BP bonus perk random slot selected up to 100% bonus

It would be restricted to unlocked perks probably due to not having to buy any DLC bypass

NGL Chaos Shuffle got me playing more DBD than ever, the modes have all been bangers.

I want a permanent mode queue that shifts. I'd never play base DBD again.
