I think that probably has something to do with the lack of chat/voice chat. There's very little chance that you're catching grief outside of the end game chat, which is itself easy enough to avoid.

i would rather have people call me transphobic slurs than have no voice chat at all tbh; i don't think the game having no voice chat has anything to do with an lgbt playerbase

genuinely interested to know, could you provide the source for your claim of a very large LGBT playerbase? thanks bud :)

there is no evidence to back up this idea that there is a larger LGBT playerbase than in any other game. if you are referring to people using the charms you should be aware that lots of people use them even if they don't apply to them just as a way to show support.

When in the customize screen there are 3 spots to click on to equip a charm to each survivor. Killers can apply them to their hooks

There are a lot of great resources out there if you are genuinely curious about the connections of queer culture to horror. <3

It’s tough to say if you’re basing it off of a charm on a character. There could be people that are just showing support to LGBT+ community.

For cosmetics it could just be the person likes the cosmetic regardless of sexuality ?? Idk

I wouldn’t mind if there was a diverse player base , but it’s just hard to tell.

The flags on the hooks are a popular fad with young millennials and Gen Z. If this was 2002 there would be American flags everywhere, because that was the societal meta at the time.

There's probably a larger than average ratio of LGBT+ peeps on the game because the developers pushed hard to attract them, but I don't think it's any particularly big number.

If I had to guess, it's probably because they equate the "fear of the unknown" to their own experiences in life dealing with people, imagined or not - meaning the victim's fear of the killer which is a stand-in for them. It seems many people in that community have a difficult time wrapping their head around a concept unless they can somehow make it about themselves. Just an observation I've had over the last couple years.

For me, I just like to see cool monsters/slashers vs humans. I'm more about the man vs the unknown concept, since it's a solid fictional trope I enjoy. It ain't that deep in these streets imo.
