Still no Killer bots in Custom Matches?
Weren't the survivor bots released like a year ago?

Agreed. And there's a (albeit kinda crappy) Trapper bot in the tutorials, so why can't they just use that AI and improve upon that?

Killer powers. Imagine trying to code a bot to accurately use every killer's power effectively, I mean the Trapper bot can't even avoid his own bear traps most of the time. Coding a decent Blight, Twins, Nightmare, Nurse, etc. bot would take a significant amount of time, since a lot of killer powers aren't straight "if x then y" scenarios and require forethought to use effectively. Only a handful could be something (relatively) easy to implement, like the Pig with "If Survivor=down then apply reverse beartrap" logic. However, even then you have to consider that would just make the bot stick a reverse beartrap on every Survivor that is vulnerable, even if its the same one twice in a row or would be wasteful to do so. It would also not give it the knowledge to use its crouch for sneaking, or therefore the stealth lunge.

Humans can think on the fly and use prior knowledge; A computer can only do what you tell it to do and nothing more. One of the most important skills for a Killer is moment-to-moment adaptation and prioritization of tasks. I'm sure it's on their to-do list still, but it's certainly an imposing task. Additionally, while it has been around a year, they've also been releasing lots of new content during that time frame so it wouldn't have been an entire year of working on such a premise. For all we know, they've barely touched the idea at all. Impossible to say, but I hope that at least sheds some light on the "why" of the matter!

So true. This right here should be easy to implement. This company does like a percent of what we consider the standard of gaming. And they take their sweet time, nearly a decade now, doing the minimum.

I don't think it is that easy. Maybe they can do it but it might take a vast amount of time, on top of balancing the game, dealing with bugs and glitches. It is one thing to code Trapper but there are way more complicated killers out there than Trapper and if they are going to have killer AI, they would have to make all of the killers able to be AI.

Not saying I don't want killer AI but I don't think it is as easy as you guys think.

I liked how you skipped over the informative post that explained how hard it is to implement and just agreed with OP.

It would probably take them about a year (working on nothing else, based on how their skills seem to be) to get a basic m1 killer without powers to be semi-working.. Another 6-12 months per killer to implement their power, You would probably have about 18-24 months of no real content added for the first killer to roll out. Then lets figure they spend 6 months a killer to make a decent low mmr skilled version of it... that's 17.5 years or so to catch up on the killers they have right now.

Just to have killers that work about half as good as the survivor bots they have.

Mobile DBD has bot killers and they are really bad, can't even hook you in time so u easily wiggle off :)

I see literally no problem with this. Many times I wish to just test things out in a costom game with out needing a second person. Or my mom who's almost 60 wants to play Dbd but hasn't figured out the skill checks and custom game with a crappy bot killer is literally what we need I would be fine with the bot trapper that already exists

Thing is, I remember there being an influx of bot cheaters where they supposedly used code from DbD to power them. They've definitely been working on them for sure, but I wouldn't be against it being released in a beta state where only a handful of killers are usable.
