Returning to dbd good idea?
Im thinking of starting because i had a long break and see the event now, but im worried about the cheater situation. Is it still as bad as some months ago?

I stopped playing killer because too many survivors were cheating but solo survivor gameplay wasnt really fun for me either, so i quit.

It's okay, there's still a few cheaters around, but I've not seen more than 2 in recent games.

I had no encounters with cheaters in the last two months (since I returned myself).

Regarding solo survivor; that's still the same. Some games you are really rocking it, and other times you're like the only brain in the team. Hahhah.
(I just had a player rescue me from the hook, only to throw a pallet in my face while the killer came after us)

There aren't too cheaters, at least not oblivious one but there is a perk that does the same for free

It's a good time to return, I returned after 4 years and the game improved a lot, I like it more now on both sides.

OP, if you want the answer to that question, check both the Steam Forums and the Official Forums and start counting how many threads about cheating are created each week.

The short answer: it is as bad as it was last summer, if not worse.

Solo survivor remains unfun.

and the community is becoming more toxic. It could be 5 out 15 matches you meet harassment when you play killer.

Hackers could be seen roughly every week or once half a month.

You might hate it more than you used to be.

The real answer? No, DBD is unique but it is a horrible time sink that gets even the best of us aggravated and annoyed instead of improving your mood in your leisure time.

If you are already down with the toxicity, yeah no problem. The cheating issue is far less big as some like to make it. There were plenty of points in time when this game was in a messier state and I dare say there is some sort of resemblance of balancing with the devs nerfing anything that is popular and overused/ over-effective by their measure.

My honest opinion after returning, stay away. Taking a vacation from this game was the very fulfilling and as soon as I came back I remember why I can't stand the game in its current state. Lots more games out there that are actually fun. On that note have't noticed any hackers so far.

If you wanna play killer or have friends to play survivor, sure. Solo surv still is a miserable experience, but that's mostly because of the players themselves, can't blame the game for that.

The solo experience got improve last year but its still bad compare to swf. You dont know your teamate perk and addon when this is fix it will be way better.

Cheating situation is bad compare to 3 month ago i stop playing right now because of that. 2 day ago i had a survivor who dissapear in front of me in the middle of the chase so i quit for now and with the upcoming games i cant see myself coming back before the next mid chapter patch.

Dbd is in a rough patch right now i think. The event is ok but i prefer when the gameplay change like the last event not knowing where the killer was and not using perk bring back the horror aspect of the game for me.

if you are missing bad teammates, camping and tunneling then yes it is a great idea.
