Playing with a VPN, will it ban me?

I've been dealing with hackers as of late and as such am trying to up my protection on my computer. One of these things being using Nordvpn. If I play this game while it is running in the background will I get banned?

I do not believe it is bannable, however, lags may occur if the location will change completely (as in you are based in Europe and change it to US IP).

Is there any particular reason why you want to use a VPN? Do you feel like targeted? I can imagine streamers with a large number of subscribers who regularly stream can be targets. Otherwise I would think this is way too much protection "average" folks should do.

You mention hackers but hackers can show up in any games. DbD uses dedicated servers so it's not like IP addresses get out. And for a targeted attack against you that would be needed.

I feel very targeted right now, yes. Because just a few days ago a hacker took hold of my steam account and then my outlook immeaditly after. I managed to change my password/2 step on everything and since then all seems normal but it still feels scary.

Doubt its bannable. But expect severe decrease in latency, depending on vpn location.

Apologies for the assumption but you perhaps clicked on a link in Steam chat you shouldn't have? If accounts get restored your best bet is to change your passwords to much stronger ones and use 2-step authentication where necessary. At this point DbD is the last channel where such an attack would arrive.

Apologies for the assumption but you perhaps clicked on a link in Steam chat you shouldn't have? I didn't click on any links, had something to do with marketplace since a ton of bots came in and started buying cards from me. Afterwards, it happened. I've dealt with it though, I am pretty sure I'm safe now.
