Do you play Dead by Daylight with music or no?
If you do, how significant/bad are the downsides and what music do you listen to whilst playing.

As killer: no music, utter silence only.

As survivor: no music, but podcasts.

Why podcasts but not music? Wouldn't podcasts be more distracting because you would have to pay attention to what they're saying?

I prefer to get new information (podcasts) over influencing my mood (music). As survivor I can pay attention to a podcast most of the time. The UI makes the decision-making quite easy now.

The answer is easy for me because I might be the only one: I hate "normal" music. To be more precise: music where you can hear someone singing. Urgh... it's not for me XD
The only music I really love is film-music. I'm a huuuge fan of Hans Zimmer <3
It would be kinda cool to hear "Like A Dog Chasing Cars" (The Dark Knight) or "Dream Is Collapsing" (Inception) while playing killer but I like to play Dbd without (film)music at all. Only in my free time or in my car ^^

Survivor = Music & Random video's

If I'm performing badly then = no music & total focus

Killer = No music, no video's, no happiness

Playing DBD with music is about as hard as playing CoD on mute back on the day. Fun but very very very unfun
Music always.

I could not, I’m not sure if it’s a slow reaction time but audio cues are critical to me personally; skillchecks etc.. as Survivor. I don’t play Killer.

When I play Legion or Myers I don't play with music. Other than that I do. I really enjoy the soundtrack of those killers.

Depends on the mood really, i mostly listen to emo rap, and no it doesn’t affect my gameplay, if i feel like im having a hard time hearing survivors i just turn it down a lil

Just like the rest of the comments mention, survivor, yeah, killer, never. If I was listening to music I would have missed a few survivors softly breathing close to me hiding in some dark corner.

Listening for music or anything else for that matter while playing is deliberately handicapping yourself for no reason, ESPECIALLY for killer. It's true for most games, but for DbD sound is very crucial source of information, therefore I never listen for music while playing.

Before someone tries to argue, I have nothing against people listening for music while playing games, it's my personal preference not to.
