Crossplay and the social aspect of DBD.
I play DBD mostly for its social aspect: those quirky or high stakes moments- where everyone comes together and you could even make some new friends.

That is... gone, for the most part, with crossplay.

For those that share my interest, it would be best if cross-play is something you opt-in, rather than opt-out, or even better, make it so that the cross-play people can communicate.

Either way, this actually risks harming the game for those like me, if the queues really become too long.

BTW yeah I'm up for talking and stuff, wa.

Wait, you could make friends before the crossplay in DBD?

to be honest i really like this as a killer, 9 out of 10 games no matter how i play, there are flaming turds everytime.
right now you can just play chill without 95% of all that toxicity.
i think this is really good so opininions differ on this subject i think.

Itd be better if they could use the chat too.

I dont know what you mean about everyone coming together though. Most of the time it's either complaining, toxicity, or dead silence.

social aspect? make friends? disgusting
Ultimate_Edgelord 14 AGO 2020 a las 3:51 a. m.
Yea game is unfun with people you can't even talk to. A lot of complaining about trash talk, but there's plenty of friendliness and jokes in endgame chat. Playing with crossplay people... I just feel crippled.

Unfortunately that is the price we pay for our ability to communicate. Some people are ♥♥♥♥♥, but them being able to be ♥♥♥♥♥ is what makes those who aren't, valuable.

You are right though, this is definitely a subjective matter- which is why I frame this around the social aspect and those who care about it.

but i enjoy toxicity
SushiJaguar 14 AGO 2020 a las 4:03 a. m.
Call me toxic, but I'm turning off Crossplay because I'm sick of these ♥♥♥♥♥♥ killers from the PS4 or whatever console it is, getting looped for 1m and losing two gens before ragequitting. Like, ♥♥♥♥ off dude, you're playing Hag, go plant some traps around gens and stop chasing.
Asexual Cat 14 AGO 2020 a las 4:42 a. m.
Thanks for bringing that up. Indeed. Console players are like silent emotionless robots, by the feel of it, since they can't chat or talk whatsoever.
I liked that part of the game aswell.
Making crossplay "off" by default would help that...
Tariff Mike Hawk 14 AGO 2020 a las 4:54 a. m.
yea they should really make cross-chat

Well I play this game solo exclusively and have for the past 1000+ hours and I've always found it fun even if I'm not talking to anyone.

There is some intrinsic fun and merit to the gameplay even without the social aspect.
dmeister 14 AGO 2020 a las 5:41 a. m.
As a killer sometimes people are friendly in chat, other times there’s a jerk saying “gg ez” or “trash” if they escape or calling you cheap or lame or a tunneler or camper, etc, if they died. Probably half the games nobody says anything at all, other than the “gg” handshake. So I’m kind of ambivalent about chat either way. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, as we've said, this is a subjective matter. There are people that enjoy the gameplay as a means of socializing and there are others who see socializing as a side thing.

This topic is about spreading awareness for those that do enjoy socializing in game and the possible negative effects that come with cross-play in this context.

I will say, though: aside longer queues, I've been running into the same people like 3 times already (with cross-play off)... so it could make for a more tightly knit community, but it's also fun to be able to meet all kinds of people.

Are they going to implement communication in lobby for chat at least so we all can say HI to each other????
fennic (Bloqueado) 16 AGO 2020 a las 10:28 a. m.
