People still hate skull merchant?

I picked dbd back up again after a few months and was cycling through some killers and landed on skull merchant.
To my surprise, they changed the way she works completely and I really like the more stealth-killer approach as opposed to the "hold a 3 gen for eternity" playstyle she did have.

But, also to my surprise, I'm finding people are still getting tilted in post-game chat telling me to stop playing skull merchant.

Is there still something wrong that makes her boring to play against, or am I likely just seeing people say that because they're used to chanting "dull merchant"?

SM is flawed from the get go, and people hate her because shes an uninspired piece of garbage DLC, and even worse so that the changes made to her recently make her tolerable at best. Don't get it twisted though.. Tolerable doesn't equal engaging and fun to play against. There is really only one way to play against her and thats "JUST HOLD W".

Yes and the reasoning somehow is still the same despite her being far weaker in Gen defence but better in chase

they changed it but actually nothing changed still an average and boring killer to play and play against

She's very unfun to play against. Her drones are broken (you can't get rid of the stacks unless you get injured) and undetectable has no counter play. Don't play her

Old Skull Merchant? Yes, if the person was playing a certain way absolutely.

Current one? Not really. They are a little annoying like Legion, but you can deal with and play around their ability more now if you know what you are doing.
The problem is many people don't and would rather get mad and spam slurs/insults in post game chat instead.

I do find her to be one of the least fun killers to play against, but moderately enjoyable to play as.
I feel if people learned the things like you can do gens in the drones area, or stand still to avoid scans, etc.... she would be better, but solo queue right now is difficult against her because people just get tagged by claws and such immediately.

People do not ever want to find a way to play against a killer. They just want to do gen simulator and escape.

My only gripe is how the drone can consistently tag you back to back, it should need to do another full rotation before it can give you another stack until it injures

Yep, still very much hated. People dc on sight or just let go on hook. SM abilities are just flawed and many maps just too favourable. I remember a 20min game where my team mates 3 gened us on Family Estate/ her forcing the 3gen. That match made me consider a lobotomy with a soup spoon...

To be fair, thats several other killers who's counter play is just hold W. xD

Dredge and Knight also suffer from the JUST HOLD W. :(

As a survivor her undetectable is honestly just annoying. It goes in and out so much that it's kind of jarring and just bizarre to play against.

How you can spam slur/insults on a game where censorship can cancel even a "gg" by "##" at times xd ?

Oh that doesn't stop them not one bit. It's easily bypassed.

I agree the filter is WAY too strict though.

Ngl only killers I hate are knight and legion, they give me brain damage and team mates never seem to know how to play against them, i don't mind skull merchant imo it's a respectable killer choice.

Her power slows down the survivor while also giving her a speed boost. If you stay at a loop you get hit for free.
Holding W in chase is the most optimal strategy against her which is really boring.
