It's just the way you wrote it sounded like as if you just discovered that the Hatch exists
But to answer our question: "Why does it exist?", well, to give the last survivor a chance, otherwise, might as well have the game insta kill the last survivor, like zero chances, heck, have it that the Survivor spawns RIGHT infront of the Killer so that the Killer can watch them insta-die.
I even had a Screenshot of the Hatch directly in Front of a Gate but somehow it got lost. Have it in my Folder and can see it but cant link it anymore.
Hatch spawm is weird but it doesnt favor a side
Seems like a 50/50 chance to me, I've seen it spawning next to me many times as surv and killer.
I know several of those locations and will beeline for them when I know the hatch is about to spawn (as I'm sure others do) hence your perception that it always spawns on top of the last survivor.
Learn the locations yourself and you might get lucky as well.
It happens. Not often, but it happens.
But it spawns right under killer just as often.
You had bad luck, and you basically won anyways, so who really cares? Even MMR counts that as a 4k, if I'm not mistaken.
