Why do survs use Boil Over?

In my 420 or so hours of DBD, only once has Boil Over ever denied me a hook a non-user would have been plopped on, and that was when i was trying to be greedy with basement
Seems niche at best yet I see it so much, why?

also as a side note I have no idea who to level up now, now that Onryo is at prestige 1
either Wesker, Xeno, Chucky, Dredge, or Singu

boil over is one way to force a slugg game from the killer and as killer and as surv i do not enjoy slugg games. people with boil over or breakout and sabotage kits love slugg games i assume.

It can be used in pretty effective, if cheesy ways. The Survivor has to be good enough to position themselves so they get downed somewhere awkward where the Killer has to take a fall while carrying them, then there's a solid chance they wiggle off.

Examples of these are like the Eyrie building or the drop downs in Gideon.

Also if you're in a SWF, it's incredibly distracting to try to compensate for the increased sway, while you're being bodyblocked.

the perks of those are all quite niche and not really good on their own. I'd need to know where you struggle the most in your games to give a suggestion that might help out a bit.

And yeah boil over is an SWF only perk at that point.

Gen pressure can either be "I dont even need a slowdown im stmomping" to "the game just started and im already down 3 gens"

Nowhere to Hide (when it comes back lol) is probably one of the best intel perks in the game. A lot of people like/complain about Ultimate Weapon, but I've been using it as a sub for NtH, and I don't like it as much.

Chucky's new perk Friends Till The End is pretty good as well for intel, I've been enjoying it. Plus Batteries Included is nice now they reverted the nerf to it. That might help with looping. So you get 2 for 1 if you level Chucky.

You can probably do without gen defence at lower MMR. Once you get high enough ideally you'll become better at chase and the Survivors better at efficiency that you'll need time more than any perk benefits to win games.

Aite, so Ill do Chucky then Xeno then Dredge since that one Dredge perk is just a diet Ultimate Weapon

works well if the teams coordinated, i can't see why you would take it solo

unless u have startruck as killer good luck getting to hook if survivors have come prepared for a boilover playstyle.. u can bet they also have sabo and yui's perk to get more wiggle if they had oak tree offering and come with sabos.. they dint come to do gens tehy just came to bully.. and u can also expect one or 2 little rats to have boon exponential so they can juggle boons and keep getting back up.. if you havent faced such squads then u havent played enough DBD..

i have faced those squads, infact I got a 4k against one as Demo today
Its just that 90% of boil overs are on solo q's or on swfs that dont take advantage of boil

Well the last time when i used hex: face the darkness it was pretty inconsistent. Sometimes it worked while being undetectable when i used a huntress add on, while on wraith it never really did much despite him being undetectable because of his power..

Maybe its not working because by not having TR the survivors cant be "outside" of it since its not there. But then the huntress add on shouldnt have worked either. If you are really curious about it i suggest just do a bot custom match and maybe you see consistency where i dont.

I had a whole build going with dms but as i said that perk seemed to be extremely inconsistent at its own for me.

It works best on certain maps/spots. Having a teammate to support you also helps boil over shine. IIRC Ormond is a popular map for boil over shenanigans.

Xeno has some good perks!!

I used to go w Boil Over when I was learning the game, but now I just think that has some perks better than this one. Most who uses this perk is swf nowadays.
