Does reporting a player in end-game *actually* do anything?
Survivors rage never gets to me, though when people are just straight up ♥♥♥♥-phobic and trans-phobic towards my identity during the end-game chat, when i report them i never get any update? Does the button actually do anything or just there for the sake of it? It's exactly the same with cheaters, with my more recent games being against cheaters. Anybody able to clear my mind on this? ^^

Yes, it does get players banned.

I'm actually surprised since before they added the response that shows a date where you reported a player that got banned, I had no idea if it even worked.

You need many in-game reports on one person for them to be flagged, however sending a ticket on BHVR's site with video evidence along with the profile of the person who cheated(if possible) works the best and is faster.

Ive only seen the ingame Message for "someone you reported got punished" once and that was when someone spammed me with suicide threats and tips

Xenophobia, Insulting me (no matter how intensly) and the generic (and honestly fun, I never report it) aimless Raging never got punished from what Im seeing

For Cheaters you have to provide BHVR with Information and report throught their Request Tickets for some reason, otherwise they wont do anything about them. Or so I heard

Its only there to flag the match if you have a cheater and you need a video on top of that. You are better of reporting toxic message to steam or the platform you use directly if you want to report someone and get result.

Perhaps maybe it could be

For verbal abuse in the post-game chat, the in-game report is the only required step and action is taken on those cases.
For different offenses, like cheating or griefing, video evidence and a ticket are also required. and you can use this link: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/categories/6713776396180-Dead-by-Daylight

I usually skip endgame chat, or stay silent. So I don't even know if they did any verbal abuse/harassment.

As for blatant cheats, I get notified that action was taken when I did both in-game report (at the postmatch scoreboard) and out-game report (support ticket) with evidence.

To create a support ticket, just use this link:

So I could in theory work with the killer every single game as a survivor, or bodyblock and farm people on purpose all day long as long as no one sends bhvr a video tape of me actually doing it? The griefing button is basically just there for show?

People who rage so hard on online games need to realize they are chronically online and get a job lol. Is Dead by Daylight really so important to you that you need to cuss at somebody or throw racial etc slurs?

I've reported people and sent video evidence of killers teaming with survivors to kill the last one/the rest then escape. It wasn't just a case of them letting a surv go at the end, it was genuine teaming. I looked at their steam profile after a few days and they're playing like nothing happened. So I'm gonna go ahead and say no, reporting does nothing even through their support site.

Teaming is the least of their issues unfortunately. They take hacking reports seriously, but not much else. The support site and the ingame reporting work just fine.

I usually get no feedback. Having reported someone recently who wished an uncurable disease upon me and not seeing any punishment is quite discouraging.

I've seen countless profiles with hacked achievements, but according to Steam rules, it's not forbidden.

Though the issue remains, they learn to get away with bad behavior and might apply it to other areas.

It 100% works for hate speech and slurs in endgame chat. I've seen it myself multiple times, yes.
Sadly, some people know their way around the automated system and just avoid properly typing their bad words :'')

yes it definitely works. i received a message logging in that they took action against someone i reported. since i reported a p100 survivor for speedhacking, and i hadn't reported anyone else... someone over there at BHVR was not about that. lol

the survivor had no lithe/sprint burst of any kind and was running anyways at full sprint 100% of the game. i'd normally find that humorous but that sure was a waste of a good account and alot of time.
