After Steam restarts verify game file integrity and see if that does the trick.
and it does have to do with the alien update because thats when it introduced settlable resolution and turning off dynamic res + TAA
i happily assumed to flip all the graphics back on 1080 all low no AA
i noticed that my gpu was being worked to 60%.... at main menu
so midmatch it would hit over 100% when too much ♥♥♥♥ happens onscreen
and crash + instantly start corrupting the pak files somehow
now that i put it on no graphics, 65% scale 720p the workload is 0-20% and ive played 2 days straight of no crashes vs every match was corrupting a pak and sometimes destroying winload so booting was corrupted too
i noticed whats causing it though
its not the cpu or gpu those are fine
my ssd spikes to 100% load then the game freezes and whatever pak it was trying to currently read it corrupts it and goes into BSOD
so now i have to figure out why the hell dbd does this at random times
i did that and it only works temporarily
eventually a new pak file will corrupt again so you have to delete the pak
then delete the whole pak folder
then delete the entire game and it will still eventually corrupt the pak again
its something with the dbd and the OS or dbd and the SSD that is making it nuke itself
hey mate, did u find a fix for that problem?
the pak itself was hard corrupted, as in when you reinstall or clear cache it doesnt delete it
when you manually attempt to delete the pak windows will say it cannot be deleted because its corrupted
so i had to go into chkdsk and let it repair the broken sector, then safe boot and finally delete that pak once and for all
now the game works
can u explain exactly what u did?
im kinda new to this...
u said "chkdsk", what is that?
could u help me?
i cant hold your hand through this since everything is basic windows operating system knowledge but ill give quick steps
1) the type of corruption i had means that when you press delete on the entire DBD folder, windows will you a file was not deleted, take note which file it told you because when you check on the DBD folder, there should be something left
2) once you know the exact file thats corrupted, reboot the computer with safe mode command prompt
3) type into command prompt to fix the bad sector
chkdsk /f /r /x
4) once its done, WHILE still in safe mode, goto the DBD folder and delete that file you wrote down
5) reboot back to normal and the file should be completely gone and you can reinstall dbd normal again
hey, i tried those steps and unfortunately i didnt work...
so i managed to do a complete factory reset on my windows,
downloaded the game and boom...same error message, code:600 game file corrupted
i really dont know what else should i do...
i 've been playing dbd for 600hrs and never had any errors like that.
i have this pc for 6 months, so my hardware is kinda new and this error should not be related to hardware stuff
factory reset doesnt remove your files, just the system ones
that shouldnt do anything at all to fix it, you have to let chkdsk fix the corrupted sector or else the file will never be allowed to get deleted
alternatively if you are willing to reformat you can just do that as well instead of this easier process
yea i did this, i reformated the pc, that was what i meant
fresh windows starting from scratch
and same error...
anyway it still sounds like whatever youre doing is not actually fixing the bad sector
yea im sure, i have a pendrive that i use whenever i need to format my pc,
i think this has to be related to the new update for 2v8 mode
