Cheat or bug?

Survivor blatantly unhooked in front of me and the killer completely froze as I was pulling her off the unhook. I could still go to the leave match menu so it wasn't the entire game that broke. Never happened to me before. Never had any performance issues with this game in the several years I've owned it.

Does anyone know if there is a hack that allows a player to freeze the killer or is this just an unusual bug?
