BSOD
Never had issues with the game before, but I keep getting the "blue screen of death" while playing recently. Anyone else, or just me? Trying to figure out if it's something on my end, or the most recent update causing issues.

BSOD is caused by two things typically:

CPU overheat

Virus

Sometimes a corrupted hard drive can cause a system crash but given the chain of events you described I'm gonna lean towards your cpu overheating.

The game actually caused the rare BSOD for me as well, back when I was on Windows 7. I saw Easy Anti-cheat listed in the blue screen text. This went away after I moved to Windows 10.

Corrupt drivers can also cause a bsod. The error codes are like DBD error codes. Even if you do look it up, it will probably give you multiple probable causes. If you are running an earlier version of windows, the game no longer supports it. Good luck!

I had bosd in the past do to xmp on the ram. Manually setting the timing solved it for me.

Is there a specific error message?

I got a blue screen last night after exiting the game. First time it's happened to me.

So...an update on this.
I have ruled out temperature issues across the board.
I came up totally clean on virus and malware scans.
I have verified all the game's files again...just cuz, you never know.
My drivers are all up to date, and fully installed.
I reset my installation of Windows, in the hopes that it was a windows file that had become corrupted.
I turned off all my OCing on my hardware.
I've tried playing the game with no additional programs active at the same time.

Yesterday, I had the damn thing crash 8 times. Every time, it was while playing DBD, or after booting back up from a DBD crash (it'd crash again, and autorestart). This made me think it had to be temps, but I have triple-checked, and none of my stuff is getting hot enough to cause those issues.
Now, it just did it again. Playing a match, go to swing my weapon at a survivor, then...crash.
I'm gonna have to mull this over, because this is a weird issue...

I never had a BSOD while playing the game. It’s not the game causing it.

It only happens while playing DBD, or when booting back up from a DBD crash. None of my other programs are having these issues. I'm rapidly reaching the point where the game will be the only thing left to blame.

Also, it has only happened while playing Nurse, so maybe that has something to do with it. Tried a few matches with other killers, and it seemed fine. Went back to Nurse, and I got a BSOD about halfway through the match. Was checking my temps the whole time; no problems.

Windows should generate a log when stuff like this happens, perhaps you can go take a look at the logs for more insight.

I would hazard a guess that the changes for steamdeck related to EAC may be at fault. dig around the files and find the check utility, it isn't hard to find

Check the error code on the bsod and any warnings/errors on event viewer.

Things are also increasingly happening to me, moreso on the newer updates after skully merchant. Not the same issues that you have but i got more problems actually launching the game without having to verify and/or completely re-install the game. It is a pain in the neck.

It's been the same the whole time I've played this game. No hardware changes.
