Depends on what you report. I'm pretty sure I had a community manager say they only seiously consider the cheat reports, and they asked to not report anything else because it "floods the system".

You have to provide video evidence for reports to work, internal reports are just for records, internal reports still help to a tiny extent when video evidence is provided, they can verify and confirm.

There're so many cheaters in my region, but none of them have been axed yet, sadly. But I've been seeing cheaters reported by big streamers getting axed, but that's that.

Short answer is yes; long answer is that we are aiming to get a quality of life update into the game so that you will know when a report is acted upon.

Not every type of report needs video evidence. Chat abuse, for example, does not need a support ticket. You can review the Game Rules here to see what reports need more information: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/139-game-rules

Oh thank goodness I'll know when reports are actually going through. Ive been getting very frustrated when obvious hostage takers, griefers and cheaters just keep doing their stuff as if the report never happened x_x

That said maybe never being notified of having them seen will also be annoying...

I can confirm that BHVR usually bans the *blatant* cheaters that I have reported as long as the following are fulfilled:
1) ingame report submitted
2) outgame report submitted (support ticket) with video evidence.

How do I know? Usually, after they update my support ticket to closed/solved, I check on the offender's steam profile. There's usually a fresh game ban (0-1 days ago) on the profile. But if the offender is not on steam, then I wouldn't know for sure.

As for other offences, like griefing or chat abuse (e.g. go kill yourself comments, etc), I don't know if they suspended their account. I look forward to the QoL improvement of notifying us of updates on our reports.

Not really. You have better chance of being banned from the forum then the game.

From what I have gathered over the years it does something at the very least if someone truly commits a bannable offense *and* you go through the extra trouble submitting evidence when filing the report!

But - I am mostly just talking from my own experiences so I can't give a straight answer; I am sorry!

It's a toss up most of the time. Your chances are higher if you submit a report with video evidence where the person in question is clearly doing something they shouldn't be able to... such as flying Ghostface with huntress hatchets (though I'll admit I laughed when it happened). I imagine if someone gets reported multiple times (and by multiple I mean like a dozen plus times) in a short span of time their account probably gets flagged as suspicious and deemed looking further into.

That being said I don't imagine every report of cheating (especially without video evidence) gets looked into thoroughly. You can come across folks that'll report someone because they're tilted over how the game went and it couldn't *possibly* be through any fault of their own that they lost... clearly cheating must be involved; there could be no other explanation!

If you ever come across someone who you believe is cheating I'd say go ahead and report them in the endgame lobby. Chances are if they are cheating they'll do so against others and once enough reports get sent in I can only imagine some automated notice system kicks in and alerts the people that handle this stuff over at BHVR to take a closer look at the individual.

Most of the time? No. Unless you're providing hard evidence of someone cheating. I feel like they rarely ever act upon stuff like verbal abuse / harassment. Seen some vile stuff and people almost always go unpunished.

It does work if you do it right. You need to report both in game and on their website with video evidence. I've gotten a cheater banned with video evidence. You don't need a Steam ID so a private profile or a console player can still be banned.
