Read something about custom portraits in the new DBD update, after prestiging a character past 3 you can get them. Thought they were character icons but I can't tell, what are custom portraits?

first ive heard of that, are you talking about a previous update before the big rework on the bloodweb?

Nah, there are no special or custom portraits that you can earn by prestiging right now. Players could get a red background on a character if they prestiged them past a certain point in the past, when BHVR changed the way prestiging worked. That was maybe half a year ago I think? Can't recall.

You can get custom portraits in your game (perk icons too) if you want to use a program that allows you to do so but keep in mind that while BHVR will not specifically ban you for this they can't intervene if Easy Anti-Cheat decides to. I wouldn't risk it, as nice as some of the portraits out there look.

Yeah the most recent update, came on and saw a message about prestiging past level 3 will unlock custom skins & portraits.

That doesn't work anymore. The way to get the portraits was to prestige to 3 when 3 was the maximum.

Bhvr decided to reduce the grind by making you go through 100 prestiges instead of 3 before you constantly get the good bloodwebs. Yeah, I'm still baffled by their inability to count aswell. But to thank the players that went through the intense grind of getting P3 on their characters before, which according to bhvr is much more than having to go to p100, those players were rewarded with a different background on the portraits. So it can't be unlocked anymore and it can't be unlocked for any new characters.
