"Dedicated Server is not Responding"

Has anyone else been getting this error recently? I have been getting it every game since August 29th. It causes me to back out of the game because everything goes offline, so I suffer a disconnect ban. Currently, my ban is 48 hours. My internet is great, i've already verified the game files, and redownloaded the game itself. Nothing seems to work. I've contacted support and all they have said is that they cannot do anything about disconnect bans.

i've gotten it like 6 times within just 40 hours of playing dbd and now i'm locked for 3 days again from matchmaking. my wifi is also great and i didn't lag beforehand. getting a penalty just because bhvr servers are ♥♥♥♥ is just ridiculous.

i agree, im up to a 48 hours ban. Found another post today explaining this has apparently gone on for months. so annoying i may just delete the game at this point.

Wow. I haven't played in months. See Killer has the bonus so figured I'll go for dailies. 2 games back to back, at varying points, get this message with a couple second ban time. Guess I'll try again closer to Halloween.

same issue here started about a week ago for me. never had any issues before and every other game working fine. I have fiber internet with 1000down and 500up

not only we get the progress on this match wiped, but we also get an extra machmaking ban as punishment....
that's ridiculous
and the ban is longer and longer everytime

I got this problem today. It is "only" 15 minutes for me but this should not be a thing. Not so player friendly.

Been having crashes, disconnections and entire server crashes.

All gave me penalties of 25-30mins.

I just got one today and the most annoying part is that I got this when the match is nearing over..

I hit someone , then the time went rewind mode as if the hit didn't happen as I want to hit th e person the 2nd time and bam.. dedicated server not responding.

I really don't want to put on my tin foil hat but this nasty dc keep happening all the time when the stuff going good for the killer makes your conspiracy theory part of the brain starts to go hyper active mode.

got the same problem since alien chapter, few disconnects in the last days and now 2 in a row, my ban time is getting higher and higher, its really sad tbh cuz it makes the game unplayable for me, and i really wanna grind the new Halloween event coming out at 18th October.
If someone knows how to fix it, it would be a great help.

yup same here- even its just for a few seconds. i dont want this to happen that often. i hope the devs working on it!

DX12 does not like DBD. In Steam right click Dead by Daylight then Properties. Under the general tab you will see a area to enter launch options. Enter "-DX12" without the parenthesis. hope this works for you all like it did for me

I just got this error about 30 seconds after loading into a match after waiting 15 minutes as killer (I am trying to get killer challenges done asap). It did not give me a penalty though.

Just keep steam running while you play it and start the game from steam not from the shortcut on your desktop
