Personally, I've long stopped buying original chapters entirely using anything other than Shards which are earned in-game for free. Same for cosmetics. The only time I would use Auric cells are for the tome premium routes (which can always be earned back) or for legendary skin sets, and even then I'd need a discount before even considering it. Sure, stuff like the Alien Queen is nice, but when it's as much for a single cosmetic set as the whole cost of the chapter? Yeah pass until a BIG sale. Otherwise? For licensed chapters I'll just buy the DLC on steam to get whatever goodies come with it... Unless nothing does, in which case yeah go with auric. Basically, my point is: Do research and look up what you actually get for the method you get something before you actually invest in it.
I didn't knew this until now I thought people who bought it in the Steam Store just gets the characters and that's it but my question is why don't they sell this in the in game shop as well ?
Don't worry I will get good one day
Yeah I thought the Steam Store was just another way to get those things and that was it if they are going to do this at least put it in the in game shop or make it to where if you get both killer and survivor the game sees that you got the full thing and give the exclusive stuff for free
Yeah I know I saw that which was weird because It did not show up for me in the in game store until after I made the post (I am not saying that my post is what got the devs to put the skin in the in game shop) but it did show up for me until a couple hours later guess they were busy posting the skins in their in game shop
Is there a way to get the motion tracker charm without buying the dlc on steam ?
Because then it wouldn't be exclusive content
In general I don't like how BHVR prices their cosmetics and DLC options because they price things as if it's F2P, but this isn't really new, and it gives people an incentive to buy the DLC's instead with Steam Credit without needing to invest in Auric Cells. It tends to be cheaper to buy the DLC too when sales hit.
This. I have 17 DLCs that were bought from the Steam Store. All of them except Nic Cage and the Alien DLC, I got on sale for just a couple of Euro each. No way I woulda paid full price for all of those.
Yeah I think the best suggestion I can give is make the exclusive stuff its own separate dlc because people got upset that this dlc cost's $12 and that's where people was wondering what's the point of that if I can just buy them in the in game store but for people who already paid $10 was a complete punch to the stomach and if people really want this they have to waste an extra $10 because there is no steam price cut so my solution is to make the exclusive cosmetic stuff its own dlc instead of being a part of the chapter
idk if people know this but bhvr used to have these cosmetic dlc's like the 80's bundle and charity bundle and it was cosmetics sold for like $2 or $5 it was really cheap so I think bhvr should do a similar thing like that make the exclusive cosmetics be its own dlc instead of being a part of a chapter dlc and sell it for an extra $2
I hate to be a jerk about it, but that's just kinda on you; the whole point of buying the DLC instead of in-game is because of the fact that it's cheaper and also gives you exclusive cosmetics. The in-game premium currency is moreso intended for buying rifts and in-game store items.
There is when sales happen, which is often.
I do understand your point to a certain degree, but the thing is that the whole point of buying the chapter is because you get more bang for your buck + you get exclusive cosmetics for doing so. If you separately sold the exclusive cosmetics as another DLC that would arbitrarily double the amount of DLC the game has and in-turn mean that the game will be more expensive overall, because not only are you buying a chapter but you'll also be buying one singular steam exclusive skin for every single chapter. That just doesn't really make much sense logistically. It makes far more sense to do what they've been doing, which is including a fancy skin for buying the DLC on Steam; something you should be doing from now on, now that you know this is a thing.
Some Good Points I think exclusivity is more a bad thing like if I have to view this in a business stand point I think Exclusivity is a bad thing because yeah sure you got a lot of money when sales happen but if you give customers more freedom on how they buy it like in the in game shop for example then you wouldn't you get even more money ? I don't wanna make people mad or anything or make an unfair comparison but when Playstation released their exclusive games on PC they got loads of money just from PC alone now I am comparing a whole video game to dlc so I think its an unfair comparison but I feel like i want to get that out there basically I think bhvr would get more money not Playstation levels of sales but you know more money if not even better than selling it exclusive
and there is a whole topic out there saying oh exclusive is a good thing or exclusive is a bad thing I personally think exclusive is a bad thing but hey that's just my opinion
