Who doesn't think dbd is pay to win
I hear so many people making arguments against people that say it's not pay to win but is there anyone that actually thinks that? Feels like they are just making a straw man

A lot of you guys don't understand what pay to win is, pay to win is a game that offers in game advantages for the cost of real money. It is not a game that is impossible to win without paying or a game that is hard to win without paying, if you take 2 people with the exact same skill levels and give one of them a meta build using paid perks like it or not the person using the meta build will do better. That is paying to get an in game advantage.

All the good stuff are in game to buy with shards. All the rest is cheap. When you ask who doesn't, you should aks who think it is because it is not.

You can play to level up and earn shards which you can later use to unlock characters during a sale (Halloween is usually half the shards, so about 4500 or so per character).

But yeah, some pretty good perks are locked behind other characters. Thankfully unlocking characters is the cheapest option in DBD. Perks like Franklin's Demise is locked behind a paywall and it pretty much guarantee you a win because it literally counters every item survivors have at their disposal.

Deadlock has never been in the shrine and is one of the most friendly killer perks and has been since its creation.

Call of Brine has yet to be in the shrine either but was released on a much later killer.

Nemesis came with Eruption (and that got in the shrine right before its nerf lol).

See a pattern? They only are willing to put strong killer perks behind a paywall.

How is paying to get something that could otherwise take several weeks even months to unlock since there are only 4 perks a week NOT pay to win???? A lot of the good perks are licensed too, so even though it would literally take HUNDREDS of hours to unlock the characters with the perks you want with shards you can't because licensed characters you have to pay for.

The most pay-to-win thing in the game is Spirit because when you own good Headphones playing her / playing against her is much easier. Just with the fact that you pay the money to your favorite electronic store.

It is cheap and you can use shards to buy them. If a killer perk is so good it is a must at any killer build then devs should nerf it ASAP. Perks are just an extra for the killer. If you said survivers perks, well the best are cheap and you can gett with shards too.

DBD is pay to stress. Game sucks these days. Far to competitive (I started late 2018)

This game is 100% pay to win.
Any argument saying it isnt pay to win is wrong.

Pay2Win = you can pay to get an advantage over players that don't pay
and you get an advantage. Easier access to good perks and killers.

That being said, I don't believe the Pay2Win in dbd is a big problem.
Most things can be unlocked by just playing instead of paying. You can save shards and buy good killers or wait until the good perks arrive in the shrine.
Sales also make this game less p2w.

IMO DBD has P2W that isnt horrible because if you don't pay, you dont need an excessive amount of playtime to make up for it. At the start you are occupied with just levelling what you have on both sides. Once you are done with unlocking everything you want/need you can probably afford another character or a few perks.
Also Huntress and Nurse on the killer side and Meg on the Survivor side are free. Huntress and Nurse are very strong/the best killers in the game and Meg has 2 insanely powerful perks. The disadvantage of not paying vs paying is lessened because of these characters.

P2W in dbd is okay

This game is not even close to pay-to-win. Experience and game sense is what separates the good from the bad. Perk loadout and character choice doesn't mean much if you don't know how to play efficiently.

I'd like to see you play without meta perks against 4 survivors with voice communication
That must be some very interesting gameplay.
