But yeah, some pretty good perks are locked behind other characters. Thankfully unlocking characters is the cheapest option in DBD. Perks like Franklin's Demise is locked behind a paywall and it pretty much guarantee you a win because it literally counters every item survivors have at their disposal.
Deadlock has never been in the shrine and is one of the most friendly killer perks and has been since its creation.
Call of Brine has yet to be in the shrine either but was released on a much later killer.
Nemesis came with Eruption (and that got in the shrine right before its nerf lol).
See a pattern? They only are willing to put strong killer perks behind a paywall.
Any argument saying it isnt pay to win is wrong.
Pay2Win = you can pay to get an advantage over players that don't pay
and you get an advantage. Easier access to good perks and killers.
That being said, I don't believe the Pay2Win in dbd is a big problem.
Most things can be unlocked by just playing instead of paying. You can save shards and buy good killers or wait until the good perks arrive in the shrine.
Sales also make this game less p2w.
IMO DBD has P2W that isnt horrible because if you don't pay, you dont need an excessive amount of playtime to make up for it. At the start you are occupied with just levelling what you have on both sides. Once you are done with unlocking everything you want/need you can probably afford another character or a few perks.
Also Huntress and Nurse on the killer side and Meg on the Survivor side are free. Huntress and Nurse are very strong/the best killers in the game and Meg has 2 insanely powerful perks. The disadvantage of not paying vs paying is lessened because of these characters.
P2W in dbd is okay
most of meta perks availble only from donate killers
That must be some very interesting gameplay.
