No last update from support that they are currently checking what's going on as some are having this issue
If I'm new, I'll let you know
very Nice
I got a unity crash error earlier today, once booting the game back up I started getting "Disconnected from host error" (Same as you all) I then continued to connect to the lobby, again and again, further giving me the same error as-well as "Dedicated server is not responding; disconnecting..." same as @chesnoodle mentioned they were getting.
Nonetheless I began searching online for any solution. These are the steps that I did. (I do not know which one of these fixed the issue, since I did them all in one fail swoop.)
Verified the integrity of Dead By Daylight's game files.
Changed / added a new dns to my internet (cloudflare's DNS)
Reset my internet via flushing in cmd prompt.
Further explanation on the previous statement:
win + r (Open command prompt)
Type "ipconfig /flushdns" and press Enter.
Type "ipconfig /registerdns" and press Enter.
Type "ipconfig /release" and press Enter.
Type "ipconfig /renew" and press Enter.
Type "netsh winsock reset" and press Enter.
Restart the computer.
Continuation of the previous list:
Opened Windows Defender Firewall With Advanced Security
Clicked "Inbound Rules" In the top left
Scrolled through until I found "Dead By Daylight"
Double clicked "Dead By Daylight" Clicked "Programs and Services"
Copied the program path. (Mine: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dead by Daylight\DeadByDaylight.exe) (Probably not the same as yours)
Click OK
Click "New Rule..." (top right), Program, Paste the previously copied path, Allow the Connection, check all boxes, name: Dead By Daylight
Go down to Outbound Rules (Top left)
Go to "New Rule..." (top left)
Click Program, paste previously mentioned program path, Allow the connection, Check all boxes, Name: Dead By Daylight.
Press windows key and head to "Allow an App Through Windows Firewall"
Scroll down until you find "Dead By Daylight", Check both "Private" and "Public" boxes.
Scroll until you find "EasyAntiCheat Launcher", do the same as previously mentioned.
Shut down your computer, Unplug your router, let it do it's thing for an hour or two. (I just took a nap cause I was stressed lol)
Plug back in router, turn on pc, and hopefully your problem is solved!
This is what worked for me, I hope that this will work for some of you aswell. I can make a youtube video on this process if it will clear up some confusion in my previously mentioned steps.
I have been following this thread very closely ever since my friend got the same message (before I did). It is very saddening to see behavior ignore their community like this. I asked Content Creator Otzdarva to message some of the devs, hopefully that will make them provide a fix for this issue.
