If you're cheating with coms and SWF, then you can co-ordinate some serious plays by protecting a critical gen from the Killer with it while building charges for Potential Energy to complete that gen when the duration ends; this can beat any 3-gen situations that the squad complacently got themselves into.
Back when Eruption, COB, and Overcharge were popular, it is pretty good. But now killers don't even bother to a kick a gen.
You can still use it, but it would be best if you are in coms, so you and your friends can communicate which gen is not blocked. For solo Q, less likely to recommend to use it.
You can also counter Deadlock by repressing the generator that would have been affected 30 seconds before the one with most progress finishes.
Best example: if 2 survivors are on separate gens and your generator is about 30 seconds ahead of them in progress, 99% your generator and repress it, then wait 20 or so seconds for the other survivor to complete their generator. Now you can complete your generator after Repressed goes away in 10 or so seconds, rather than waiting the 30 that would have happened at the time of completion.
TL:DR Use it to save 5 or 10 seconds and counter Deadlock
And then spend the rest of the match being face-camped.
How you gon' tell me it's useless when everyone else can make builds out of it?
