Even playing survivor i hardly used Deadhard. I like running support perks and helping with gens and healing; so I run perks to help me there! So I do not care about DS or Deadheard... Never really liked them, never really used them. I know I'm weird though! So I am an OUTLIER!
Still its nice to be seeing some different perks, and its nice to have the free breathing room since I already love running fun perks like STBFL or Sloppy. . . so, survivors being tinkered with and gen regression being dampened, I hope the game will see more diversity!
It is much more fun to some to manage hunting and tracking survivors, or setting up ambushes/traps! Not everyone likes running after you in a circle for 2 minutes straight..! Fun is subjective!
Please be polite! Its ok to disagree but goodness calm down - and for god's sake just run Distortion or something if you don't want me to read your Aura
I'm not angry, lol. I was only being sarcastic. I just hate that the game revolves so much around specific mechanics (being able to see the opponents through solid objects) and meta perks. Now that Dead Hard and healing have been nerfed Sprint Burst and Sloppy Butcher use is going to skyrocket. By this time next year they'll probably nerf those too, and then everyone will just settle on another set of meta perks. Meanwhile there won't be any real stealth in the game, it will always be aggression and chasing and confrontation because the other side can see you pretty much all the time nowadays.
As for Distortion, I'd use it more often if it wasn't a 100% useless dead perk any time a killer doesn't happen to be using aura perks. And that's exactly what I mean: This has become a game of using a specific thing to counter another specific thing. They're making it more and more punishing not to.
I'm not trying to mean and I'm not upset with any of you for liking the new style of the game, it's just frustrating for some of us to see it move farther and farther away from what it originally was.
Agree, this is the feeling I have from the game, the play-styles are decreasing and funneling more into chases and take aggro on the survivor side since 6.1 and more now with the recent meta change (which pleases only a high mmr minority), there is no real diversity in stealh, disturb or utility (the few they had were either nerfed or not really usable). I.E, until today 2 perks only from hide aura, none from killer instinct, nothing that mutes the foot steps, 3 to disturb (besides meme pebble), etc.
The killers meta, on the other hand, was the one that increased the most with the release of new content because they had several usable things, but >>in my opinion< a power creep was created with the gen slow-down in relation to the other perks because they were very powerful, and now with the recent nerfs people are just recovering other really useful perks, like the 9999 aura reading, sloppy (since the buff on the hemorrhagic system last year), chase perks (StBfL since the base-kit buffs from 6.1), etc.
Right, that's what I mean. Just because the meta is changing doesn't mean that there's not still a meta. It seems that there will ALWAYS be a dozen or so perks on both sides that are used by like 90 percent of the players, and it's largely because the mechanics of the game (and the overly competitive crowd) keep pushing it. Rather than several hundred equally viable, fun, unpredictable perks, it's always just a small handful that give an overwhelming advantage which forces the other side to use their same small handful to counter that advantage. Back and forth, back and forth. Side 1 brings X so in order to have a chance side 2 needs to counter it by bringing Y.
How many people honestly, truly feel that they can always just pick whatever perks they want, willy-nilly, and have any reliable chance of still doing well in a match? That's not how it works anymore. Instead it's all about seeing the opponent through walls and slowing them down. Sooner or later there's a confrontation, and then it's all about how well you can "mind game". DBD is slowly becoming a game of "who : Don't have fun with your perks, because you can't afford to. Don't try new things during the match, because they probably won't work. Don't take too much time or make any mistakes, because the other side can always see you. Instead of any of this just find the best build to undo the other side's build and be good at running around walls. That's pretty much the ENTIRE game now.
Right, now it's just aura and anti-healing choices.
I completely agree with your point of view. Every update just makes the game more monotonous. Whether you are a survivor or a killer, you have to bring certain perks to win the game. The reason is the imbalance between perks; some perks are never used. This is undoubtedly a design failure for the game developers.
IDK about the killer perspective tho, if the gen is faster than before or not or feel the same, and if chase is better or not.
One thing I start to notice is my teammates started to bring DH again, and got value out of it. I think DH will be popular again after a while.
This new meta feels fine as it is and the only thing I might change is Ruin - I think it would be fair to bump it up to 150 or 200% with the caveat that it deletes itself upon 1 sacrifice.
If the devs don't change their position on how shake up metas should be done (buff low tier perks and evaluate if the most used ones are really broken and need nerf), I believe that the perks you mentioned can be nerfed.
I agree with ruin, and I also think corrupt should block more gens, about 5, since the perk disables with a down (something I had already mentioned before)
I swear, people could meme No Mither into being meta and somehow the devs would find a way to make it worse, lol.
Ruin should stay the way it is now. Most value from ruin is at early game, that is why it is a hex.
Fearmonger as a counter is jus a joke sice it only works for stealth killers and it is worse against sprint burst. Imagine using it mid chase like dead hard so now i don't need to let 1% exhaustion all the time. If it was good it would have countered Dead hard too, this one you could avoid with exposed builds or killers like legion and Ghostface.
Lithe is at 25% pick rate, almost the same as Dead hard before nerf and it will be more after the new and returning players drop Dead hard.
