It's not a big deal though, just a single ten or fifteen minute session and you're done, then it's auto from then on out. it's probably just something that's meant to ease new players into the changed system or something. That or a technical limitation of some kind (I thought they meant, for example, that the bloodweb changes wouldn't kick in if you were partially through one. I didn't know that buying a new character AFTER they changed the bloodweb would still require one normal prestige). Not sure what the reasons are.
In case you don't this, you can also select items at the ends of the web branches, and it will auto-select just the 2-3 items in that line/branch. (if they are Prestige 1 or up). It also gives you a total for that brnach, when you hover over the item at the end.
