Pharmacy

BHVR buff this perk and kill it months later. From all the perk changes, why does no one stop to think about this perk? As a matter of fack. What's the point of running this perk at this current state? This used to be an enhanced version of self-care or even a second chance perk (since the condition to be activated was exclusively injured). With the last update, the perk is useless bc you can't heal yourself anymore with a medkit.

???

You can heal yourself with a medkit just fine.

use it on your teammate then? Oh wait I forgot that's forbidden in solo Q

Whilst the speed and charges of medkits has changed, it is still possible with all tiers of medkits to self-heal. Please read about the medkit changes in our patch notes.

It says "Reduced personal healing speed at 33%" and also the efficiency is reduce to 33% which means you won't get a heal out of the medkit like you used to do and make this perk be worth it to use.

Rigth now this is a perk that will grant you a medkit when you open a chest while you are o injured but that medkit won't heal you it will leave you at 55% if the killer is not using sloppy.

It used to be a perk to give you an option in case, though you could find a teammate, then you could find a chest and open it to heal yourself.

Now, what's the purpose of getting injured and 100% chances of finding a medkit while injured if it won't take you out of that situation?. Use it on your teammates? Then why would I run Pharmacy instead of Bond?

Are you running Botany Knowledge? You can’t heal yourself fully with a medkit if you have that slotted.

I don't want to get too off into the weeds on this one, but we DO have a Dead by Daylight math primer as it is quite complicated and our CM Peanits did an incredible job laying out all the nitty gritty: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/386-a-guide-to-dead-by-daylight-math

The short of it:
You item stores a certain number of "charges" inside it.
Action speed makes your action meter fill up faster or slower. But no matter how fast or slow, you'll use the same amount of charges to complete that action.
Efficiency is the only thing that affects how many uses you get out of your item.

You can still get a full heal out of any medkit, and as it is slower and less efficient, you'll get better speed and MORE use out of it on your teammates.

It does have worse efficiency but they reverted self-heal changes in PTB and left it at 16 seconds which means 16 charges though with -33% efficiency you will use extra 7.92 charges. That's being said you still can heal yourself with any medkit

Well, I just realized what's causing my confusion.

My game is on Spanish, and it seems to be a translation problem since the message on all the medkits shows different charges, none of them mentions that now there's a penalty (But the debuff icon appears when you use it) But if I switch my game to English, all medkits had 24 charges plus they now mentions about the penalty efficiency and yeah, my bad on healing charges. It says it takes 16 charges to get a full heal.

I'll keep my game on English for now since it seems to be a translate error on the Spanish language.

Yup. Pharmacy was by favorite survivor perk before they nerfed it with the perk reshuffle in July. Now it's even more of a joke with Green Med-kits being pitiful. They need to make Pharmacy back to giving you a green medkit on first chest search + bonus chest open speed + one shuffle which grants a medkit of random rarity.

well before that, the hemorrhagic system update already made the perk very weak, since it is more used in a niched build with built to last and you cannot use it 2x if the killer is using sloppy, since there is no natural counter to the hemorrhagic system, such as being inside a locker to avoid losing healing progress/bleeding, as there is for reading auras, for example

In July, bhvr made it even weaker with the requirement to be injured, as much as you managed to guarantee several med-kits per chest, the perk was more solid when you got the med-kit before, if devs wanted to guarantee more med-kits, it was enough to remove the requirement of being injured and replace it with the ability to rummage the chests, guaranteeing the med-kit, since it was more a nerf than a buff.

I think today with the self-heal debuff from med-kits (heal time and efficiency), the minimum was for the chests to be opened much faster natural and with the perk equipped, to be practically instantaneous to compensate for the loss of time with the self-heal

All of the medkits have 24 charges, and it takes 24 seconds to heal yourself with a medkit. The loss in efficiency on the medkits when healing yourself is to deplete the medkit exactly on a full heal.

Understandable confusion in that case! Localization is not yet complete, and will be in a future update.
