The chance of Jason in DBD?

I know in recent months the lawsuit for him has calmed down some. I was wondering, what is the chance of him being added next year or so?

His 2 separate license holders finally decided they could split the pie so its 100% a possibility now, Schmuckles did a video on why today as well. I think we will but not sure how soon as they've only just sorted the legal stuff and it takes about a year usually to get a killer ready to release.

I'd say there's a reasonable chance we see Jason. Like you said, the lawsuits seem to be over but I'm not 100% on the outcome so someone else might be able to enlighten us.

DBD's popularity seems to be on the up and up. Nick Cage coming to DBD, the DBD movie in production and the fact the Hade's developers, Supermassive Games, are making a DBD game which will be great for us lore nerds so I think the people that own the rights to Jason would look at all this and maybe be more inclined to work with Behaviour?

It also seems that the rights to characters can be withdrawn or expire e.g Stranger Things, Attack of Titan so that might make it more attractive to the Jason rights holders because they can withdraw their IP.

I'd think the major obstacle would be if behavior just doesn't think it's worth making a deal with them considering the drama. AoT leaving seemed like it was planned that it wouldn't be permanent but the ST thing just sucked because netflix sucks as a company. I'm not sure how willing they are to work with a license so radioactive.

I wouldn't say the popularity is on the "up and up" as all the major discussions have been on the crossovers that have yet to release, but we'll see how that changes once those actually start releasing.
Also, Supermassive didn't make Hades, That's superGIANT, Supermassive made Until Dawn.

Every power I can imagine making sense for Jason is so dull that I just can't be hyped for him, or so OP that there's no way the survivor players would tolerate it (like immunity to pallet stuns). At least Myers has the whole "I stare at people for a really long time before I kill them" gimmick that totally tracks with his behavior in the source material. It's really hard to make interesting gameplay for 100% slasher killers, because that's essentially what the killer base-kit is.
My understanding is that people like Friday the 13th for the varied, gruesome, and comical kills that Jason does in it...but here's the thing: this game can only accommodate 2 methods of death (which cancels out variety), the game has gore only in the most technical sense (so gruesomeness is out), and even if he has an awesome mori...there's only so many times you can see it before it loses all entertainment value (so no comedy).
In short, if he ever does come to the game, I think the fans would just be disappointed.

Fortunately, I'm a Nightmare on Elm Street fan, so my dreams have been crushed long ago (no pun intended).

I agree about his powers. Plus F13 already tried to do a lot with him. Hard to come up with something better than that, that isn't op or boring.

My prediction? Jason will be an M1 Killer most of the time, but after charging up a meter he gets to unleash lake fog across the map and is permitted to teleport freely in a misty haze, basically becoming a better Dredge; similar to how Oni is a better Hillbilly during his Power state at the cost of being an M1 Killer when it isn't active.

Alongside Jason the developers should also introduce The Chucky doll and The Xenomorph...it's been a while from when we received a killer/survivor from horror movies.

If it means we get a Crystal Lake map then I'm all for it. I loved the Friday the 13th game and it's a shame what happened to it.

Until Dawn & The Quarry are great games about taking choices. About Dark Anthology: Man of Medan, Little Hope & Devil in me are really good and finally House of ashes is boring. So I bet it will be a game about taking choices and quick events with DBD lore

Just think of Trapper that can phase walk like Spirit can and you pretty much have the version of Jason that plays in his own game.
