Remove hatch
what's the point of it other than rewording bad survivors or someone who wants to bait his team so he can run away with selfish perks or killers who don't want hock so he can trade or have more time to find the last survivor

lets pretend HAtch isn't RNG?

also what if I'm a survivor and my teammate wants us to die because his perks are all about hatching and beating the entire game?

There's a few ways to tell where the hatch will spawn depending on the map, honestly I liked the old system where the hatch would spawn closed allowing you to hunt for it if the conditions were right (gens done = survivors alive +1), but that was changed because it gave survivors another way to escape the killer without opening the gates and was so abused that half the time the killer would patrol the gates and the survivors were gathering around the hatch so another one would open it with a key.

People hunting the hatch from the get go? Right from the start? Happens like what? 1%? 0.1%?

Seeing that the game is lost, one remains hidden, while the second sacrifices himself as quickly as possible to reveal the trapdoor, like what, 95% of my games. If the killer is lucky enough to find the trapdoor first, he must hope he's also lucky enough to get the minimum distance between the doors. Now with the latest perks, it takes less than 10sec to open doors.

How to avoid hatch, get to two survivors and get them both injured, slug one and then hunt around the map for the other one; since they’re injured they’ll be easier to find

So, funny thing. Hatch does not count as a "Win" according to MMR/SBMM

Some people have hatch challenges. Hatch is also good so people don't hold the game hostage

How does hatch help prevent holding the game hostage?

How does hatch help prevent holding the game hostage?
First scenario: You killed 3/4 survivors with 2 or 3 gens left. What happens now without the hatch? The last survivor need to repair 2 or 3 gens alone or hide the whole round. What do you think will this survivor choose (we know this community :P). That's "holding the game hostage"
Second scenario: Only 1 survivor left but all gens are done. Now the 2 exitgates are right next to each other or you just play a mobile killer.... what will the survivor do? Open the gate and escape/die or he/she is scared and don't want to touch the gate even once. That's "holding the game hostage"

Both scenarios don't start the EGC and the trial will never end. The hatch, doesn't matter if you close it or the survivor escape with it, help both roles with these scenarios.... with the escape or the EGC

1st scenario should just end with EGC automatically starting when the 2nd to last survivor dies.

2nd situation is the same. The exit gates being near each other is rarer than them being SUPER far. Does the killer get compensation for that? No? Then no need for hatch.

It's there so that 4king isn't super easy and there is some risk to slugging. Not much challenge in 1v1ing for exit gate and not much incentive to stick around to fulfill a Killer's 4k while bleeding out.

Doesn't change the fact that the hatch prevent survivors from holding the game hostage ^^ And yes: I'd rather let 1 survivor escape than sit 1 hour in the trial to search one little Dwight. I don't care about my 4k, I care about my time.
If you have all the time in the world... go for it :D
Lord Cyphre Jun 18, 2023 @ 9:50am
The point is to have the ghame end in a timely manner instead of it dragging on forever.
Let's face it, the last survivor isn't gonna repair gens. There's no chance they'll getanything done by themselves and they'd probably be very stealthy, making it an absolute chore to find them as a killer.
This way the survivor can find it and escape or the killerfindss it, closes it and initiates EGC.
Just stop being so bitter about not getting the 4k after clearly winning a game alread.
Having a hatch is much better than having drawn out matches were nothing happens.
