Stuttering on High End GPU
My game just keeps stuttering a lot, I already tested on ultra and low settings. I already unlocked VSync and didn't fixed the problem. Anyone know how to fix this issue? Just happens on DBD, other games run w/ smooth fps.

Xeon 2670 v3, RTX 3060 12GB, 32GB Ram.

You are not alone my friend. I stutter too on a 13900KF & a 4090. This game is held together by bubble gum and twigs.

Try disable discord/steam overlay and see how it goes.

Already tried and also tried DX12, doesn't help a lot but has a little difference, thanks!!

the most incredible thing is: I just switched from RX 570 to RTX 3060, when I had my old RX 570 the game used do run so smooth. Seems like the game like low end pcs! (already did a fresh install of windows after changing to 3060)

Yes. Same. I've had the BSOD as well from it.
Not happening in other games.
I am though on a lowly 1060 Nvidia.
It's a great card btw! I used to run the game smoothly on a RX 570.

I play on rtx 3080, dx12 actually gave me more stutters and I've done lots of tweaks to graphic settings, it can still stutter but it's better now. 120 fps still causes high heat and noise in my pc. I instead have a problem with mouse clicks sometimes not registering and apparently it's due to resolution in the game somehow, I also tweaked some settings and it got better but still... I changed interactions from hold to toggle, charging killer abilities is still dangerous as sometimes it cancels. For example I would be holding right click to uncloak as Wraith and it just cancels

This game makes no sense at all! a lot of people w/ 4090, 3080, 3060 getting stuttering, damn optimization.

When it happens, it happens at the worst time too. I remember losing kills because of it, mainly happens when I play killers I think

I had similar issue on my GTX 1050 Ti, the only thing that fixed it for me was modfying the game user settings to force oldschool fullscreen instead having that fake fullscreen that is still in windowed mode.

How about fresh install the game and even delete the dead by daylight folder in (%appdata% --> Local) Folder. And after the fresh install launch dbd once so that all the config files will be made and loaded on your hard drive and after that you can safely go and edit the files again only touch the (gameusersettings.ini) and don't touch the (engine.ini)

gameusersettings.ini :

fpslimit = 120
UseVsync = False
Frameratelimit = 120

'Cause by now majority knows that DbD is capped at 120fps so setting it to it's desired capped frame would stabilize it. Won't hurt to try but this worked for me. May not be perfect though ^_^

This game and Dark Souls 3 are having the same exact stutter problems like some weird denuvo was added to the games. No seriously go look on DS3 forums and you will see atleast 10 topics about stuttering lol.

Yeah DS 3 always had that weird stutter. It's the same with Dishonored 2 which is a shame because the first game is one my my favorite games ever and I just don't enjoy playing the second game
