WIth Alien coming to the game, which movie should I watch 1st?

Much as I hate to sound like a broken record... Alien and Aliens, def top-notch films. The other movies... well, they exist. Some exist more than others. But the first two are good.

You could stop here and be really happy with the franchise. I can watch those two films multiple times a year and be happy.

Aliens III (I liked it, but many others didn't)
Alien Resurrection (I also liked that one, but again, many other didn't)

You could stop here if you didn't stop after I and II. I could watch those every year, but sometimes just end up with the first two. Generally before I play Alien Isolation.

Prometheus (Was "okay", lost me when the main character was doing crazy stuff after major surgery.)
Alien: Covenant (Just lost me in general)

The last two I think I've watched once.

The first Alien is a horror movie, the 2nd one action with many xenomorphs. I think both are really good.

You can just watch the first alien. Aliens will give you a false idea of what to expect from it. That's an action first and foremost like the second terminator movie which deviated from the horror focus of the 1st.

Alien 3, Prometheus, AVP and just meh.
Resurrection, Requiem, Covenant are bad, and should feel bad.

there not bad they tired to add stuff from the comic into the movie lore as they did that in the comics since u dont know in the alien comics long before the movies the WY corp has tried to clone and make there own aliens for years in attempt to control them and make them weapons in war but every time they tired they broke free killed and rebeled even in the queen of queens liens itch is the queen mother ho livs on the aliens home planet shei s the queen of queens mother of all xenos and can communicate with her children no matter the distance even on a another planet years away and she can even induce nightmares in humans who come incontact with her for her phy link is aboslute and strong and she can cause a human to not only have nightmares but go insane the 1st 4 alien movies only over the one of the plany planets her children have taken over like LV221 the queen mother lives on xeno prime in a huge chaimber surrouned by 4 other empress queens Empress is the tier before becoming a queen mother and since the original queen mother is still alive they ill never be another but only her in aliens the 2nd movie it is believed that the queen ripley faught was an empress not a normal queen she was verry much older queen but she may have not been that long lived to be come one but in AVP the 1st one that queen there was also an empress for she as much bigger then the queen in aliens she was more powerful as well alien 4 and 3 took on 2 aspecs from the comics itch is hy they ere odd 3 being the comic idea that aliens are changed based on what they ere born out of depending on witch version of alien 3 u watched the alien was either born out of a dog in the uncut version and theater release it was born out of a co itch made no sense in the movie of how it ran and moved they made it into a cow because in the uncut you see the hole part with the dog being face hugged and then the alien being born with the dog crying in pain as the alien is born so u can see why they changed it it does make animmal lovers/dog lovers cringe and feel very bad for the dog so in the release it was changed to be a co and the cow died before the alien was born the only alien movie that is new and original is the covenet and prometheus trying to make up how the aliens came to be idk why they went that way idk why they didnt ant to do the original home planet of the xenos xeno prime is ere they come from home of the queen mother but i love all the alien anad predator comics there is alot both movies try to do from the comics avp was not a new idea it as in the comics before hand for long time they even had some funny ones batman vs the aliens lol but should give em a read

I haven't seen the Alien movies myself, but I'm intending on watching Alien and Aliens at the least before the DLC. I *have* played Alien: Isolation and I highly recommend that, and I didn't feel like not having the films was a detriment to my experience. I got the whole story easily enough.

For a deep cut, there's an old Alien FPS called 'Alien Trilogy' that I grew up on. Just plugging that for fun, but it's pretty atmospheric for PSX era.

Alien and aliens are definitely the best of the franchise, but if you are not picky about good movies then I would recommend watching Alien3, Alien:Resurrection, Prometheus and AVP as well, I still watch them from time to time. Watch Alien: convenant only if you like Prometheus and want to know more about that storyline. The only alien franchise i really dislike is AVP 2.
