WIth Alien coming to the game, which movie should I watch 1st?

At worst some of the films just exist as a cash grab for the time.

Prometheus, Alien: Covenant.
You can skip the rest, but some people may like them, especially Aliens vs Predators.

Prometheus was filmed on high-end IMAX 3D hardware, so having a kind of ultra-HD release to watch might be very interesting.

This. Although I will say that Alien Vs Predator was enjoyable, but its not pure aliens.

Aliens 3 was where the vibes got a little weird

Alien resurrection was more than a little weird...But It was okay.

I cycle through them all probably once a year at some point.


Watch Alien then aliens...But I would say Aliens was > than Alien. They mostly come at night...mostly....

Prometheus + Alien Covenant are worth a watch, although some of the gore was a little over the top IMO. I don't really like them as Prequels to my beloved franchise, but as a horror sci fi they are okay.

just agreeing with everyone else, do Alien (1979) and Aliens (1987). The others are no way near as good but still entertaining if you fancy more of the franchise.
Also worth playing for both the gameplay and the story is the game Alien: Isolation

The new game that came out is amazing too, Aliens: Dark Descent.

Alien and Aliens are the only truly worthwhile ones to watch.
Alien 3, Prometheus, AVP and just meh.
Resurrection, Requiem, Covenant are bad, and should feel bad.

The first two are the good ones. The third one is a major step down, but it still has some good moments. Make sure to get the Director's cut because the theatrical version is garbage because of how poorly it was edited. Alien Resurrection is bad but also quirky so it is occasionally funny especially after a few drinks. Prometheus is not only bad with its terrible script but also pretentious. Alien Covenant might be the worst one, especially since it did so poorly that there won't be a third film to resolve the cliffhanger ending. The AvP series is ok if you like dumb, inoffensive action films.

I agree that you should check out Alien: Isolation. It's a love letter to the first film, and though I didn't care for the ending it managed to freak me out several times and that rarely happens to me with games.

Everything else is just poor writing, facepalming and more of a hate watch experience.

So what you do right, is you watch the og Alien film, then Aliens: the directors cut, and then you watch a playthrough of Alien Isolation on youtube.

If you wanna suffer a whole bunch after that, you then go and watch Alien 3 and then Alien Resurrection (which weren't very good btw). and then if you 'really' just want to kill your enjoyment of this series, you then watch Prometheus and Alien Covenant

I can recommend the first AVP movie too (but not the second). Some people hate it but tbh I think it was pretty cool for the time it came out in.
