Is 32GB game updates ok?
After the release of version 7.0.0, each subsequent update, such as 7.0.1 and above, is about 32GB in size and takes several hours to download. Something went wrong? Why have the updates become so huge? Do you have the same? How to fix this?

you are NOT downloading 32 gb, its the game files being updated❕
or simply saying game files taking new effects❕

You don't donwload 32GB's of game data, you're essentially adding ontop of thek then steam does a automatic verification of game files (which is cpu limited) as a means to make sure the update doesn't break anything or overwrite the wrong files, etc.

Maybe. But it shouldn't take 5-6 hours every new update, right? When it used to take 5 minutes previously. Now this is become annoying process.........

5-6 hours Carl

Well, no, I tell you before it took about five minutes at the same speed as now. Previously, the update size was a couple of hundred megabytes. Now every new update essentially downloads the entire game again.

Something clearly went wrong after version 7.0.0

i havent had this issue with dbd yet, but with other games. might be something wrong with steam, because back then everybody told me its my "slow pc/connection" too, which obviously was bs. eventually it fixed itself for me

It's a 'you' problem, people aren't downloading 32 gig updates. You are.

You may also not be downloading the updates, but unpacking them. Or something was wrong with your files and Steam redownloaded the entire game because something was broken; there can be a lot of reasons why.

My suggestion is to make sure your download cache is clear. You can do this from "Steam > Settings > Downloads", and then hit the "Clear Download Cache" button.

The download cache being bloated is usually the main reason why people get ridiculous download sizes, or have games install poorly. A clear download cache and reverifying the game files ensures that you have a clean and fresh copy of the game.

Hello there!

Thank you for bringing this situation to our attention. As the language you used in your message is not currently supported, we are using translation software to communicate with you in order to provide assistance in English. You're welcome to continue responding in your preferred language.

It's really unfortunate you've gone through an unpleasant experience, we apologize for the inconvenience that this might have caused you, on many cases on the update there are a few MB or GB the amount that it's downloaded from the internet, but if you see on the downloading chart there's a little disk symbol with a big amount of GB, all those Gigabytes are not downloading from the internet, this amount of information is the visual representation of the process of patching the game data, it's just sending the update information to the respective place on the game. So in conclusion, it's not reinstalling the whole game it's just applying the new patch information to the game data!

However in big patches it is normal to have a big load of data downloaded, if it happens every time, try reinstalling the game.

In case you have any other doubt or have to report anything, please feel free to contact us at any time! We appreciate the time you took to submit your report!

See you in the fog...
Stephanie"
