(Linux Mint) Game wont start easy anticheat

Every time I boot up the game I get the message (With no debugging information)"Dead By Daylight has Crashed!, Our apologies for crashing admisdst your killing/surviving spree. Please provide us with details so that we may fix the issue." I originally ran this game on arch Linux and got the same result assumed there was missing libraries so I Distro hopped to Linux mint with the same result. I tried using proton experimental (Didn't work) tried proton v8-0.2 (Didn't work). I have checked ProtonDB but they say to use heroic launcher( Didn't work). Im on my last straw here anyone got anything.

I have enough control over everything to be able to do everything I want, and will ever want to do. After all, it seems in this situation you have less control considering you can't even launch a game that I could if I wanted.

I think there also is a issue that is unique to it, they added support for DBD on Linux but doing brief research alot of other people are having issues like this too recently. I reckon something might be broken and you might have to wait for a patch but I am not sure about that as my research was brief.

Do you have the easyanticheat runtime installed? Thats needed for the anti cheat to work.

I see your problem. You're trying to play games on Linux.

2) flatpak steam package
3) install proton easy anticheat runtime
4) use proton 8.0 to run the game.*

you should have dxvk 2.0-compatible gpu and the driver., amdgpu with mesa 23 or nvidia 520+.

I do not think this is the easyanticheat runtime missing, iirc when eac fails to run, the game will exit normally and not launch the crash reporter.

What GPU do you have, and what driver versions are currently being used? You might also find success in running with '-dx12' as that'll use vkd3d instead of dxvk

your gpu is likely to be unsupported. vulkan 1.3 support is a bare minimum requirement, but also proper mesa and dxvk support are needed which are absent if i recall.

It's not your proton version, I run the game fine with 8.0-2 and have had zero issues since EAC support was added. I'm also running Linux Mint, although I'm on 20.1 and using Mate, while you're using Muffin. Moreover, your Mesa version is only 22.

Failing that, I would look at possible hardware issues. Your laptop is only dual-core with hyperthreading, and I imagine it would struggle to run the game at a playable framerate.
