Survivors refusing heals?
Is there a reason I occasionally run into a survivor that refuses to receive healing? They'll instead just self heal in front of me, either using selfcare or a medkit.

Just had one person who would refuse to heal others too, so it can't be for the bp. :/

They can have resilience, it can be versus a killer where healing doesn't matter much, like a Legion. and honestly, too many survivors wastes time on healing. A normal heal takes 16 seconds, both for the healer and the person getting healed, that is 32 seconds gone from the survivor side. which is more than 33% of a generator.
So in some cases healing actually loses you the game if you heal too much as you waste so much time.
In certain cases when I do play survivor, unless I am dead on hook, I don't bother getting healed (depends a lot on the team and what killer I go against).

And when you get saved off hook and the person that saved you is injured and heals you and then you heal them, that is about 64 seconds lost on the survivor side, that is a lot.
So unless you are all injured, or its possible for you to be 3 man together and heal, its in a lot of cases not worth the time to heal.

outside of circumstances that warrant it, like legion, it's just brain damage

I spent full on 40 seconds trying to heal someone, 35 of which were spite before I left

then a few seconds later they are in chase and are downed

you can lead a horse to water but you can't stop them from pooping in it

Obviously because they forgot to equip no mither and healing is for skill issued people:coolstar2022:

they get bp in the survival category for self-healing.

it's not usually time-efficient. it's at the cost of the team sacrificing time (since a teammate is ready to heal them) that could've been spent on gens.

That is because your MMR is too low. That generally speaking is a terrible move by the survivor.

That is false, it is always better to heal with a teammate(s). You lose like 8 seconds every self-care heal which quickly adds up. Self care loses games, always the survivor getting hit every 5 seconds that goes across the map the the corners to self care.

what are you declaring as false, exactly?

i am saying that *generally*, it's better to let the teammate heal.

however, i would say there are a *few* situations where it is better to self-heal. for example:
if a gen can be completed in 10 seconds and the injured teammate has a medkit, he could heal up some place on his own while the fullhealth teammate works the gen.

- if the killer arrives in less than 10 seconds and chases the full-health person away, the person who finished self-healing can now finish the gen.
- if the killer arrives 10 seconds later, well, the gen is finished. and both can run to the gates in full health.

No I just got confused about your reply, I thought you meant it was better to use self care. I would argue there is no good situation to use self care, in a good situation to use self care you might as well spend the time on gens and regroup later and heal.

sometimes, there is no chance to regroup later. following my example above, if the killer arrived in 4 seconds and found
(a) 1 injured teammate and 1 full health teammate at the final gen. - the killer can down the injured teammate and chase the last standing survivor to death.
(b) 1 injured teammate being healed by the full health teammate - again, the killer can down the injured and chase the last standing survivor to death.

if they had split up (1 selfheal, 1 repair gen), they would've had the best chance of survival.

They don't understand how the emblem system works and they don't play well with others or they're just being intentionally trollish, take your pick.
