Massive FPS drops
Ryzen 5 5600
RX 5700XT
16GB DDR4 3200MHZ

Having insane fps drops only on DBD, I had 0 problems in RE4, BF1, Valorant, CSGO, RE3

Tried:
Reinstalling driver
Verifying the game
Reinstalling the game
Enabling Vsync
Disabling Vsync
Messing with settings ultra/low/high
-dx12 in launch options

Any solution? My friend with a 5600G APU is not having any issues meanwhile I do?

I also tried that, the game would drop to 60-70 (same for 60 it'd start jumping down to 40's)
This is what i expected..
Well, try disable steam overlay.
If not, is your Razer mouse support high polling rate? If so, you need to test it. Try to lower it and see how it goes.
Is your AMD drivers up to date?

Yes I updated my AMD driver

What confuses me is, me and my friend have the exact same settings & setup yet I get issues.

I'm yet to reinstall windows but the issue is only in DBD and dbd ONLY.

Well, i have fps drops when discord overlay is enabled in windows. Only in DBD also.
If you gonna try to reinstall, try after fresh install verify ( launch custom game ) every time you install new app that problem is still fixed.
Might be amd "reduce latency" tech can cause this also.

Hey

Somehow, running the GPU on PCIe gen 3(instead of gen4 since my platform&gpu support it) in bios of B550 Aorus Elite

helped the situation a little bit (Cant confirm yet since I didn't try that much)

If you have edited your GameUserSettings.ini to utilize the 120fps cap, make sure that you only edit the FramerateLimit and NOT the FPSLimit. I was having the same issue and that fixed it for me. FramerateLimit controls the framerate of the game itself while FPSLimit controls the UI framerate and anything over 30 breaks it completely. Hope this helps.

Hmm there is problem with ZEN 3 + USB ports and one of the fixes is reduce PCIE from 4 to 3.
Try to look if you have BIOS update for your motherboard. If you don't know how to do this properly - don't. Try different USB ports also.
You will not get big fps lose from changing to PCIE 3 ( in other games i mean ).
If this will help you with your stuttering, so be it.

I have both FPSlimit & Frameratelimit at 0 (since the game has a hardcap at 120fps)

This has nothing to do with the mentioned issue, my pc is more than capable of providing 120fps at Ultra @ 1080p

And I do get that mostly, I just have constant FPS drops (dropping from 120->90) but it feels insanely worse as if it went down to 0

I already updated my B550m Aorus Elite rev1.3 BIOS to the latest version (FC)

But yeah, I'll try to check USB ports out later!

Performance loss for RX5700XT when changing to GEN3 is completely minor. (less than 1%)

Well after further testing, I still have the same issue.

Had the issue with CS:go and DBD...guess what: Disabling the steam overlay did it for me. Maybe give it a try..

(right click on game, properties, slider of steam overlay is just there at the top. :-) )
