Distortion is basically mandatory nowadays (against hackers)

There are so many aura reading abilities of the killers, however it is also great to spot ESP hackers (when they see every object and survivor on the map). I successfully spotted hackers with this perk, because they use aura reading abilities to explain why they saw you there, however only with this perk you can prove that they are hackers (unfotunately). So if you don't use Distorition, you basically can't prove they hack even if you record it, because the devs will say it was their aura reading ability.... sad state of this game...

Theres more ways to detect a survivor, such has the crows, or they saw you from afar.

They could have also heard you when they were near.

Theres even some perks that reveal survivor locations that cant be countered, like Rancor.

Or killer powers like Legion's with Killer Instinct

What is your point with this post??? No way a Nurse always exactly blinks on me when I hide behind objects fully covered and not making any noise for example on Gideon Meat Plant, when she kicks a gen and I use Distotion 100% hacker.

Or in a recent game Huntress was using Lethal pursuer I was using Distortion, we were on swamp map, I was completely covered by a huge tree, she was just camping on the top of a hill, then when I came out from the cover of tree while I was crouching in the big gass(!) she instantly hit me (pre-aimed me trough the tree, when it was impossible she spotted me with naked eyes). But because she used Lethal pursuer, she thought it is completely okay, that she sees me through a huge tree in the first minute of the game.

No way these examples are not hackers... I am not talking about stupid crows or Legion ability omg, I have more than 2k hours in this game...

You would be surprised at how people can spot you from your breathing alone, even i have found people like this.

Theres also your footsteps, which is specially true for a Nurse in Gideons.

Regarding the Huntress, its possible to know the location of the players with Lethal, even if they have Distortion, due to how spawn logic works (thats why Pinhead is able to find the box right away), plus, if she was camping on a hill, she was most likely waiting for the slightest movement, those are usually some of the most terrifying Huntress players

Just saying, without video proof, its hard to tell.

Killer instinct, crows (especially with spies from the shadows), screams, and other notification perks/add-ons say hello.

This really doesn't tell anything. I've been called a hacker because I saw a survivor clear across the map running in the open so I was able to deduce where they went and take a guess and found them. From their perspective I should have had no way of telling where they are.

Also, like has been said you'd be surprised how much a Killer plays by sound or crows flying up. There are tons of OG ways of tracking besides aura reading perks. But keep using distortion, I love my aura reading builds and when the team uses distortion it leads to a natural tunnel of the non-distortion using survivors.

Distortion won't work if they're actually cheating. Most wallhacks in games draw a box around objects to indicate where they are. I doubt dbd cheats are any different.

I think they are saying that running distortion lets you tell if they are a hacker since they will be operating with information the OP believes they shouldn't have since they didn't get it through aura reading.

Exactly this. Unless your entire team is running Distortion, it screws your teammates because hooks gets placed unevenly, usually winding up with an early 3 man. Better to take a chase to even disperse hooks.

ohh, my bad then. Well it's really hard to tell if killer has wallhack that gives permanent aura reading since there are so many ways killers can find survivors eben without aura read. Tho there is one really funny thing, when someone calls you hacker becauseyou used Nowhere to Hide while they were literally hiding almost next to the gen you kicked, waiting for you to leave and finish the gen.

^ this the client they play on is aware of where you are, the cheat shows your hitbox.

I don't understand why everytime one thinks a killer is cheating there's always a bazillion reasons to try to explain they're not. One of my main builds is Distortion, Iron Will, Calm Spirit and Lightweight. When I want to be sneaky I hide at random and weird spots, difficult to find...

and yet, there are MANY times the killer comes right to me in a straight line, without distortion triggering. And the match ends and surprise, no aura reading perk neither killer hability could have told the killer where I was, and still it happened.

"But sometimes one guesses and..." bulls**t, we all know when a surv is cheating, and I don't know why is so hard to acknowledge that this cheating plague also affects killers.

Because there's many reasons why killers can locate a survivor without aura reading, especially killers who play long enough to know the typical spawn trends.

Not saying there aren't some killers using cheats, but you need proof of their builds and footage to really see it, while survivors are usually pretty blatant about their cheats.

Pretty sure there's no survivor perk to machine-gun fire unhook yourself while flying through the sky.

It's hell easy for players like me to spot a cheater, since I started when the game just came out, just like PUBG.
Denying friends will always state "denying facts" and present nonsense to back the cheaters because they want to bluff and pretend that they're not getting owned by hackers, they don't want to "hate" the game, even when the hackers get banned, they'll still deny it, it's just their bad mentality of escaping the issue. And that will not solve anything, accepting the facts, and reporting the cheaters is the only way to go and allow the game devs to work it out with their anti-cheat/server sided defenses from evaded methods of cheating.
For newer players, they won't be able to figure it out easily since they're already playing against cheaters from the start, not only that, their friends can hoodwink them as well.
