Why people hate trickster?

His design is too colourful for me, it’s sometimes an eyesore.
Whenever I see him I just imagine him being the end result of My Little Pony mating with Barney The Dinosaur. He’s not intimidating in the slightest, and I also just don’t think he’s interesting.

The issue being if you put him next to horror icons like Freddy, Michael, Leatherface or ghostface there’s just a huge contrast.

Also Wraith reminds me of a cereal box with Twiglets for legs.

The game is designed to draw the ire of the opponent. People care more about the negative.

He is able to hunt and hurt survivors, can damage generators by kicking them, has the ability to hook survivors and comes with 3 perks, thus he's overpowered, unfun to play against and should be removed from the game.

Atleast, that's what most survivors mention in this forum.

I hate his aesthetic. His outfits are ugly imo and his knives are kinda annoying.

I personally am not a fan of Tricksters because most of them just proxy hooks. His power makes it very easy to down the unhooker and then down the unhooked person quickly after. Just makes for stale gameplay

More hits to damage = more chance to dodge which increases annoyance when the damage state is achieved.

Compared to huntress in open enviroments he can achieve a down slightly faster if the survivor paths badly.

The showstopper ability is neat, but it does make unhooks a really bad idea even with basekit BT nowadays.

And to the peeps saying stuff about their loud visual design, understandable, but it's just another aspect of the horror/thriller genre.

Only big difference with him is just the outlier fashion compared to most grittier killers. (Trapper, Blight, Plague outfits versus killer cosmetics from say, legions myriad weird/visually louder ones. Not to mention survivor designs that pop out wildly.)

I don't like anything about Trickster. The character isn't frightening because he's just a random guy with a tryhard day-glo obnoxious "look at me" personality and story. The character feels straight out of some bad anime which doesn't fit the atmosphere of DBD at all. The character isn't fun to face because his matches are always the same (hide behind an object to nullify his power or be out in the open and lose). I never tried using him but the common belief is that he's not especially exciting or rewarding to play.

In short I can't really find any reason to have a high opinion of him, other than his good perks.

problem is just try going in a shack chase. you will regret it. his bloodlust is soo slow prob the slowest of all killers hags gets much quicker bloodlust. problem is shacks op against this killer prefer 2 pallets than a loop. i could bring bamboozle but other perks bring more value. what to do would be to leave that survivor there but theres a gen in the shack... as a result of low hooks, time wasted, constant loops, slow downs if played wrong at start what you do - you camp one person farm for main event if they want to really save simple as that and take the L cuz of a bad build against windows.

It's funny, I remember a time when saying stuff like this would get a flood of countering responses. Wonder where they all went.

I think trickster is salvageable. Get rid of the light bulb knives and the light saber bat and give him a more gritty korean mobster look and I think it'd be fine.
