similar way as with flashlights, as soon as you hear a survivor drop them, look away.

oh, its not hard, it costs one perk slot, equip LightBorn

best regards

If you're trying to pickup dying survivors, don't immediately pick them up using the fastest route and angle possible. Make it look like you're doing this by looking down and then turn away. If you hear or see survivors dropping them in your face, turning away and up also works.

This won't work when the killer is locked in animation IE: picking up a survivor/checking a locker. Most smart players will wait until you are in an animation lock before using firecrackers.

Lightborn is not usually worth it and players should save that slot for a real perk and attempt to use other tactics to avoid light.

For securing a hook I walk towards downed survivors and fake the pickup by looking down and pausing for a second, then turning to hit the (hopefully) baited survivor who was waiting to make a save.
If I'm blinded during a chase somehow I look down and start turning the character left and right to triangulate the sound of the survivor to keep chasing. Having the game's audio set to "headphones" makes it harder to track players IMO so I wouldn't use that.

Also I've seen players look straight up/down to avoid firecrackers and still get blinded. Not sure if this is a feature or bug. It has only happened to me once.

Looking down still blinds you but looking up has always worked, for me.

I've been blinded one time looking straight up. Haven't tested to see if it's a fluke or feature yet.

It's actually why I look up, flashlight or firecracker, instead of down.

Dunno if they're bugged or what. Had a game where I got stunned 3 times by them, without any visual blinding effect, and while getting the "Flashlight Evasion" points. Was able to avoid them pretty easily before, now it seems impossible.

Yeah look up has always worked for me also. I've seen people claim it doesn't work, but I've never been blinded while doing it, and I doubt the hundreds of attempts against me have all been whiffs..

Edit: Spinning is Bad IMO, you have a wide FoV they can blind you with, and it takes much longer to Spin away than it does to look up.

Not in that game no. Funnily enough when I did put lightborn on, no one used any firecrackers lol. Guess that's how it goes.

If it's recent, there's a bug that gives free lightborn, without costing a perk slot, but it's not every game, or even constant, per game.

It's simple,you don't.

Look up
Demon Kitty Jan 29, 2023 @ 4:37pm
Look up or spin away fast, its tricky , you get used to it and aware of the throw motions survs do before it goes off.
That being said flashbang and the latter rarely work.

But yes, lightborn ftw.
