Why is word "russian" now censored?

I suppose that's because people tend to insult players based of their origin/motherland, and they would always lash out phrases like "Frickin Russian!" "Russians are the Worst!" "♥♥♥♥ you russian dog!" and others similiar... but still I'm kind of suprised...

This game has all sorts of baffling censorship but what I find the most infuriating is the thing like you just mentioned... they censored "russian" cause people were insulting russians xD so now... russians are censored, and some serious offenses are still going through filter... woah...

but yea... just don't use post game chat... you will be healthier, and your state of mind would be better! Cheers!

I do wonder if the war has anything to do with it. I've seen some people spit hate at Russians because of it so maybe the word is just temporarily censored to avoid that kind of crap.

And it IS crap. I have every belief that there are millions and millions of wonderful Russian people who hate what's going on as much as anyone else does. Being a citizen in a country that happens to have an awful leader is definitely not unique to Russia.

The game's chat censor is a bit gung-ho. I've had "gg" censored before. (But it fixes itself eventually) Maybe there's some automation going on there and it got incorrectly flagged as an insult?

Censorship is basically random and arbitrary and purely designed to antagonise people further. It changes from person to person and match to match. Don't try to make sense of it, you'll go insane.
