FPS drop on M & K
Ever since an update a few weeks before Wesker I think, my game's fps drops like CRAZY when I get near another player and try to look around. I use mouse and keyboard but noticed when I use arrow keys on keyboard to look around, no fps drop. Same with when I plug in my controller, no fps drops. Only when looking around using mouse when near players. Anyone know what is causing this like a possible setting i have for a mouse may be on or something?? It has ruined this game for me and i havent been able to play it for months

I don't know what causes this but I'd check the drivers to see if it's up to date

this is the third time that im passing through the same issue, i tried everything and the only "fix" to that was formatting my pc, but one week after i formated my pc this problem was back, i cant play the game rn because of that and even the behaviour support was not able to help me at all, looks like we just have to wait for a patch and hope this gets fixed.

Had this issue with my new mouse and drove me insane. If I moved my mouse fast and long enough, meaning maybe 10-15 seconds, I could crash DBD 100% of the time and even if I didn't do it that much any mouse movement would tank my FPS even in the tutorial I could just stand there and move my mouse around and my FPS would drop and keep dropping if I kept moving mouse.

First go into Windows Mouse Settings and make sure that "Enhance Pointer Precision" is unchecked. Double check this even if you think it was already unchecked.

Windows Mouse Settings [ibb.co]

DBD, like practically every other UE4 game, has mouse smoothing enabled by default.

Disable it by adding these two lines to your Input.ini and save the file normally, don't use "read-only" on ini files.. ever. And this goes in INPUT.ini not GameUserSettings.ini not Engine.ini but Input.ini it will not work in any other ini file.

[/script/engine.inputsettings]
bEnableMouseSmoothing=False

Edit: I'll make a quick video showing the obvious difference and upload it and add it to the thread this afternoon.

You're very welcome! Drove me insane for awhile too until I figured it out. I couldn't find any help for it either so I just became obsessed with it and learned all I could and tried everything one at a time until I figured it out like most of the issues I ran into with this game.

I'm just waiting for YouTube to hurry up and finish processing my video then I'll put it on here and hopefully it will help other people, and maybe the Devs will even take a look and fix it but it's been this way for a few years already so I dunno.

Enhance Pointer Precision Checked (which is default in Windows)
Mouse Smoothing Enabled in DBD (which is default)
1:21 - Moving mouse around fast nonstop, notice the FPS tanking and frame drops start to pile up. If I kept going for a few more seconds DBD would crash completely but I wanted to do the video in one recording so I stopped in time. Then I look around via keyboard, no FPS dips or frame drops.

Enhance Pointer Precision Unchecked
Mouse Smoothing Disabled in DBD
3:23 - Exact same thing notice there are no frame drops at all, and FPS does not tank no matter how long I move mouse around wildly.
