I've tried so hard to loop windows and pallets but at every single turn my ass is shut down
That's understandable, just wish I actually knew ways on how to actually last a match
- when the killer is close, don't stay around hiding in the bush until he finds you. usually, they will see you and you risk getting trapped in a corner, or giving the killer a free hit.
- if there's a hex: ruin, don't run around looking for it. sit on the gen, learn to hit great skill checks to counter ruin. because chances are, your other teammates will run around looking for the ruin.
- know which pallets are safe/unsafe. yes, there's unsafe pallets. pallets that the killer can easily go around and smack you are bad pallets to loop. the safest pallet in the map is usually the killer shack pallet. (many people call it "god pallet")
- windows are not super easy to loop for a beginner, because killers can smack you through windows lots of time.
- play KYF and practice.
heres a few tips to get you started. :)
Thanks for the tips, really helpful. I must ask though, what is a hex? Haven't come across one yet
Cheers, the videos so far seem helpful and I'm actually learning things from them, thanks man!
I speak for experience because apparently I'm forbidden by "Community law" to play SAFE, I am "Obligated" to be so close to the killer 24/7 or else it's "not fun" or "You're a coward" or some bs like that, but my point remains.
PLAY SAFE, you can only trust YOURSELF (Or your IRL friends)
0) Stop running around without a real need. When you run you leave bright red scratch marks that allow killer to track you. Also, fast vaulting windows or pallets make a loud noise (killer can see explosion alike notification).
1) You must unlock and equip Spine Chill perk ( https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Spine_Chill )
It will notify you every time killer is not far from you (36m dia) and when killer is looking your way. Very handy tool for people who dont want to learn killers way of thinking or who would like an extra security.
2) I advice to begin with Claudette (for self-healing + aura reading perks) or Jake for staying quiet when you are hurt (Iron Will). Jake may look as a worse pick, BUT he is the best choice for people who like to be optimal. You cant heal with jake, but he will stay mute as not hurt survivor. It mean you can continue working around without being afraid of being easily found. Also, vs some killers, like plague and Legion, healing is a waste of time.
3) Here is the list of all perks for both side. You must learn at least killers perks, because they can wallhack you with them in different ways: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Perks
IMO, the most people die because they dont hide from BBQ and Nurses Call.
4) If killer is coming your way, get as far from generator you worked on as you can, because killer will look for you near it. It may be obvious, but I keep seeing people hiding too close to generators. Also, if you are hurt and you want to use self-care dont hang near generators, too, because of the same reason. Killer is patrolling them.
5) Watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YEqJA4kF8A&t=1s
It will take time before you will begin to survive, because there are too many bad solo players who will get you killed or leave all work to you, and it take a lot more time to be a good survivor than to be a good killer. You will need to learn a lot. I advice to focus on dodging killers perks and abilities, because trying to outplay just experienced killer is impossible. When I play killer, if someone fail to hide from me, I tunnel the guy to death. The fisrt mistake - the last mistake.
