Cant join lobbies with friends

So before when my friends and I were trying to make private lobbies, I couldn't join my friends lobby, it would take me to the loading screen but just bring me back to the main menu.

we tried having different people host, still didn't work.

Now with Survive with friends the same thing is happening. we create a lobby(sometimes I takes me a few tries just to get into the party lobby). Then we queue up, we find a lobby but Im not in it. my friends are all in a game lobby waiting to ready up, but I never make it.

I feel its a network issue, but I don't have any problems with other games. Any suggestions?

Im glad somone knows what Im talking about. Although I dont think its bug/glitch I think its a network issue or firewall. Since DBD doesnt have its own dedicated servers, it has to use P2P for players to connect to each other. This poses a problem to people with networks or firewalss like ours.

I dont know exactly where the problem lies, could be ISP, router settings, network settings, firewall settings.

if anyone knows any advice would be appreciated

Exactly what I was thinking, so I uninstalled my antivirus and firewall and allowed an exception for DBD in Windows Defender, but it still doesn't let me connect to certain lobbies. I don't know what else to do. If I could connect all the time with my friends, I would never stop playing this game, but because I can't I feel like I'm annoying them by basically saying "Guys I got kicked, leave the lobby you all got in, and let's try for another ten minutes again." It's such BS, I hesitate to play with friends whenever they ask because I know exactly what's going to happen. If anyone has any fix or useful information holy tits I would pay you for it.

Dude this is stupid I am getting the same problem and the devolopers dont respond or anything any information would be useful.

Café if I find a fix or anything I will tell you both but right now I am just gonna host lobbies with my friends.

Just found a fix might not work for you but give it a try



Go to the top right corner in steam, click "Steam>Settings>Downloads" then click "Clear Download Cache" and if that doesn't work, try changing your download region to the same region as your host

I usually have to try more than a few times to even join the "pre-lobby" with my friends, so I usually host my friends when we search for a game because they don't have trouble joining me. Then, when we do find a game with a killer, more often than not, my friends make it in and I get booted to the main menu. We also have trouble finding games when I'm hosting the "survive with friends" lobby. I'm thinking it's a firewall or router issue as well but I don't know what settings I need to introduce to get rid of this issue. In the firewall it looks like the program is allowed. I don't know if there is additional ports that are needed or what. By the way, I only experience this with Dead by Daylight, so, while it seems to be a network issue, it is solely because the developers ♥♥♥♥ the bed with respect to making their matchmaking/network user friendly. It was easier to set up a Minecraft server or play Terraria with friends.

Dealing with the exact same thing, friends all make it in, I get booted 90% of the time. It's a bug, happens to specific people, devs have acknowledged it and said they work to fix it because what happens: your friends get in the lobby and the game says "Alright there's an extra slot, lets fill it up" and it brings another player instead of you and it boots you. It's def a firewall/router problem as well I would think because it happens to so few people.

Still having the same problem in 2017! Got the game two days ago to play with my gf, she had the problem yesterday and now it's my turn. Totally unacceptable as we both got the game to play together. I do agree with you that it's most probably a p2p/firewall but the devs should at least reply and advise us on possible solutions, or maybe they did but I have yet to find the post

Game doesnt start when i run as admin , it gets stuck in an endless loop of starting the game

Right click on [Dead by Daylight] and click on [Properties].

Go to [Local Files] and click [Verify Integrity of game files]

my Friend did this and got a new update that had to be downloaded.

Hello, just wondering if you ever fixed your problem with this game. my girlfriend has this game and it is the only game which has this network problem. every other game we have doesn't have this problem, Call of duty's, battlefield, GTA online (though GTA is plagued with networking issues) PUBG etc...
she has the same problem as you, she can not play with friends and join a killers lobby, it always says disconnected from the host for her, while all her friends are stuck waiting for her.
playing with random people it works perfectly, hosting games and inviting friends works perfectly. all nat ports are open. all firewalls turned off uninstalled, it still won't connect. on windows 10, in the UK, going through a virgin media super hub, hard-wired.
