Are perks and add-ons temporary?

Just started playing and am loving this game so far, especially the Hillbilly. I'm now level 2 with him and got 3 add-ons. The Speed Limiter, Guide Bar and Chain File. I then went into a game with the Guide Bar equipped, finished the game (Petty Victory, if it matters) and then all three Add-ons were gone! Am I missing something here? I know Offerings are one-use but what about Add-ons?

Add-ons are one time uses for the killer, unless you use the Black Ward offering, which lets you keep your add-ons for one game.

Perks are permanent until prestige. After prestige, you keep your teachable perks, and your 4 perks slots, for both killer and survivor.

Add-ons only get used up if you die or use up the item as a survivor. The one exception is the Skeleton Key, which can also be burned if you open a hatch without a protective add-on.

Okay, thanks for clarifying. But that doesn't explain why other other Add-ons I didn't use went away too.

If you use an offering it'll disappear from your inventory just like the add-ons, those items are not permanent like the perks (you'll never lose the perks by using them, only when/if you decide to prestige the character with said perks).

Add-ons do NOT share on killers.
i.e. you unlock 3 addons on Killer A, you play Killer B, Killer B will NOT have the addons Killer A has.

Edit: Also yea.. Addons are a one time thing, regardless of victory or loss after equipping them.
