Silencing Generators?!
Just played as survivor and saw the oddest thing. Another survivor actually silenced the generator just before it was totally full. Is there a perk that does that? Otherwise, wow what a powerful exploit!

I havent heard anyone say its an exploit, its what happens when you trully 99% a gen and its actually easier to tell the gen is ready to pop and finished for the killer than if it was making noise.

If you don't 100% it then the little silence before the flash and loud noise is halfway proc'd.
But yes it is an exploit.

If its an exploit then it falls into the same league as killers hitting a wall to completely negate your wiggle ie. everyone does it.

Not really an exploit because killers should know without the lights on the gen is not done.

It's not a perk, you just have to leave the generator at 99% done and it silences. I personally don't like doing this seeing as you have to go back to it later, I prefer getting it over with and not prolong the game if it's not necessary. Don't take my word for it though, I'm not the best DbD player around.

i really dont see the point in it. any extra noise distraction is good, also the killer can be sure its a positive 99 as opposed to a 51% to 98% which will still need a little work done.

Well the thing is, if you're a killer part of the way you know where survivors are or will come, is the noise the generator makes and the number of pistons moving. So without that visual or audiable cue, its impossible to know where survivors have been working. At that point you just have to get lucky and stumble into one or have one of your perks reveal them.

You're an idiot, the killer can't even see the gen. Not only that, but he doesn't see a survivor pop it to reveal their location. It's an exploit and people who abuse it are scum of earth.

?? he does see when it gets turned on.When it's silenced it doesn't count as done.

And the fact he doesn't see it on his hud is a con for the survivors imo.

You saying it's a con without giving an explanation as to why doesn't help your argument.

The killer's job is to patrol gens, if he doesn't know how close they are to each other then patrol route can be much longer. Giving survivors extra time to run around and abuse more gens.

It disappears from the killer's HUD when it's silent; he wouldn't have a reason to patrol it even if he wanted to.

Again, you don't understand how to play killer. You're gonna patrol 3 gens next to each other more than 2. If you can't see the third one, survivors can run around more freely.

Yeah, I am totally confused about how to play killer. Explain it to me - why would you patrol a generator that is done? And if you did want to - what prevents you from remembering where that generator is?
Petebloodyonion Aug 17, 2016 @ 5:40pm
Simple to silence a generator, just blow a fuze and it will be silence unless you restart it
