I would pick DBD. Identity V has better art and storytelling which are great additions to a game. DBD however has the game play down and that's what's important to me in a game.
Game Play:
One of the laughable things that I noticed when first seeing Identity V matches was that it was super easy to compare maps. You could look at one and go "Macmillan Estate". Their game play is also identical and considering DBD came out first Identity V is a clear copy bar some changes (generators to decoders). I don't mind other 4v1 asymmetrical games, but I value some individuality.
Concept Wise:
The art style (minus the maps) of Identity V is nice. It's Tim Burton style which is one of my favorites. Identity V also has a story rather than a vague outline and past memories.
It has horror characters which is way better than anime.
Hey anime is not bad shut up also identity v is for free and dbd is pay to get so if you cant buy it then you can get identity v
