Is copying save files bannable or not?
I know there have been a couple of threads like this but there never seemed to be a clear answer.

My question is if I buy a new pc and copy my dbd save files (no altering of files, just copy paste) do I risk getting a ban?

Also will they ever change it so your progress is saved on the cloud?

Pretty sure that is stored and saved on steam, not your computer, so you cant do what you are suggesting to begin with

Idk as far as I've heard it doesn't save on the steam cloud.
At least it used to be like this?

I just really want to be able to play with better graphic settings without losing my progress. :D

The save is stored on the Steam cloud. I reinstalled the game after my HDD died and my progress was safe and sound.

Honestly? I'm starting to think many of these complaints are from people who wasted €20 just to troll, rather than legitimate complaints from players. There's a thread about that bug where you pick up a survivor and get stuck from someone who doesn't even own the game.

The game does store your save files locally. Somewhere in the depths of Steamusers folder. Don't remember folders number, though.

I'm just a bit late but I've transfered between 2 hard drives and can confirm that it saves to steam cloud
