Only save your teammates when you can. Most of the time it's futile as many killers don't know anything about the game aka camp like idiots, making unhooking/altruism broken part of the game.
Here's what I do.
1. Right off the start, don't immediately start a generator. The first thing killers do is patrol every generator to see which one has been started. Even if they don't see anyone at the started generator, they'll know someone is at least in the area. Wait for the killer to pass by your selected generator before started it.
2. Find out where the killers basement is and try to finish those generators first. Either that, or try to finish the ones in the middle of the map, especially if you're on coldwind farm. You want the end game as far away from the basement as possible.
3. Almost never run unless absolutely necessary. Some disagree, I say never run unless you KNOW the killers attention is toward something else (like you just saw someone get smacked on the player status bar) or if being chased.
4. You need to power level the other characters lol. It's goo that you got Dwight out if the way early, I would strongly suggest working Claudette next. Self heal is soo needed. Afterward I would suggest sabotage with Jake to score less risky boldness points, and finish with Meg.
5. Learn to juke. React to the killers movements, don't let him react to you. When you jump thru a window, you should be watching if he goes left or right to get to you. You then react and go the opposite direction.
If you allow him to react to you, you're basically dead because he's faster than you lol.
Good luck man
Do 1 gen.
Save 1 survivor of the hook.
And then you continue or die and there you have it easy pip.
To rank up easily, you need to keep in mind the emblem system here : https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Emblems
Meaning don't play the way you think this scenario would go (if it could be done) in real life.
Do a gen or two, but do stuff near a killer, let him see you and chase you. Even if you can't get away, you'll get some chase points (and practice learning to get away). If you can vault and/or pallet drop him a few times to prolong the chase, GREAT. Go for *safe* unhooks when the killer isn't there, so you can get some heals too.
Remember: Doing a gen is only 1 of the 4 categories. Escaping is only 1 of the 4 categories. In my experience (got a couple hundred hours now), you will pip a lot more consistently *dying* to make a big contribution than you will surviving and only doing gens.
Good advice.
This was back when survivors had to get 10k points to pip so they could do whatever they wanted
I never thought I would say this, but I honestly think that was a better system, because at least the survivors had to be good at surviving in order to pip.
lol, its crazy old haha
i know i will sound like a douchebag, but after 2,000 hours of gametime, im actually a good survivor. usually escape like 7/10 times
I'm a good survivor (imo), just not good at *escaping*. I mean, I'll typically get 2-3 unhooks, and 1-2 generators and usually win a chase or two, but I play too much with randoms (and even my SWF is usually only two-man). So between lost chases, not escaping, overall poor team performances, etc. I feel I generally get screwed.
