Is DDoS/Doxxing still a thing in this game?
As stated above, or have they resolved the issue?

Me and 3 other friends bought the game and we're having a blast with it, but then I and a friend saw a couple of videos on YT about IP adresses getting leaked etc.
After this none of my friends want's to touch the game unless it gets fixed.

No followup by BHVR in regards to the specific streamer being ddoxxed from their IP being leaked and having to quit the game, so take that as you will.

just psuedo promises, which is par the course for the age of psuedo-progressives.

This kinda people only DDos streamers I don't think they would target you since it would be pointless same applies with cheaters most of them show up on streams since they need attention and show off to get their inflated egos better
i call them attention seeking
clowns 🤡

As far as I am aware, it's just gonna be a thing. EAC anti cheat isn't exactly very good at the whole "anti cheat" thing. Though BHVR does take steps compared to most games to prevent this kind of thing. They don't want to advertise changes much though since it can help people figure out ways around any security they do put up.

Really, any game that doesn't have good anticheat, this is a problem. DBD isn't an exception to this. GTA V on PC is way worse than this game. It's so bad, people can do ♥♥♥♥ to you even in single player.

Its mostly streamer who get target. To be safe i would use a vpn at this point the vpn should be basekit with dbd when you bought the game

Exactly this! Like just beacuse you didint get any attention from you crush in middle school when you cried in the hallway does not mean you can just ruin someone elses life left and right (not talking about you Alucard, but those clowns you where talking about :))

This isnt even an anti-cheat issue, Its the poor security that they have on their servers.

Not really true. You can met cheaters even as non-streaming player. From summer to October a lot of players, including me, had issues with cheaters. And I am really not a streamer. Some of them just like to ruin others people fun, that's all.

He meant DDos. You most likely won't get a DDos attack by someone for no reason, they mostly go for streamers because they hate them or for whatever reason.
You do meet subtle cheaters very often though but they won't DDos you for no reason.

I just reacted to that cheaters part. And yes, they have no reason to DDoS you but back then there was that nice thing called "lag switch". Also didn't matter if you were a streamer or not. :lunar2019piginablanket:

That is still a thing funnily enough due to the netcode being very bad.

It's not a thing anymore, because you can't technically lag switch someone anymore. Game isn't P2P anymore. What you probably have on mind is increasing own ping from server's point of view creating a lag in your favor. That's something else.

Noun:1. A device/program used to intentionally slow or completely stop data flow from the modem to the computer/gaming console for a short period of time.

You are still able to gain advantage doing this even though the game is not P2P anymore as they dont properly verify the client input.

(Dont do it, Its bannable)
